  1. easier to see on the new registrations tab https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/lexus_gs_450h_premier_cvt#!newreg 37 + 20 + 21 = 78.
  2. DAB was an option on all CTs at that age rather than standard - sounds like you don't have that option installed. They are around £400 - £500 from a dealer + fitting. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ct/lexus-ct-2010-onwards/lexus-ct-electrical/lexus-ct-phase-1-dab-tuner/ There is more than one kit, depending if you have Sat Nav or not so you need to make sure you get the correct one (probably only cabling differences).
  3. Assurant/The Warranty Group administer it. Toyota provides the warranty. One of the terms of the warranty is that servicing must be carried out by an authorised Lexus dealer. You should be able to get a discount on the parts as the vehicle is over 5 years old (essentials), even if they have stopped doing the essentials servicing at a discount.
  4. Not many out there, I think it was only around 80 sold. This one at Lexus, but doesn't look like it has a sunroof https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Gs-Saloon/450h-35-Premier-Mark-Levinson-Great-Car-s4cjlcr
  5. Lexus is very clear on this in the service schedule. It is every 6 years, not age related. You should request that the plugs are not carried out if you don't want them done, and expect a normal 20k service price. If you have purchased a service plan then the full 60k price was probably taken into account when taken out and therefore you are unlikely to get a refund.
  6. Not sure what the dealer could have done to trigger the change. You cannot disable charging the battery. How often are you using the vehicle? If you fully charge the battery (on AGM mode) then you should expect to be able to leave the vehicle for two weeks and be able to start it (it would then need at least a couple of hours to recharge it again though).
  7. Extremely unlikely as they will offer hybrid and PHEV variants and the BZ4X is a BEV platform. I still expect the NX to be a RAV4 in new clothes.
  8. Felt strange at first. The shallow and low bonnet combined with the lack of dashboard/gauge cluster and large windscreen means you have a large view of the road but at the same time feel a little exposed. Only had 30 mins so didn't get to play with everything but it was very quiet, instant throttle response and extremely rapid.
  9. Yes sorry, for the F Sport that is correct. For the earlier F Sports (2018-2020) you could get the wireless pad via the Tech and Safety pack or Takumi, now only with Takumi.
  10. I wasn't trying, someone contacted me and made an offer. Probably below what I could have advertised and held out for but was a quick and painless transaction so happy with the outcome. I'm just not my car at the moment, I probably only put 500 miles on the clock in the last 12 months. For local trips I just take my wife's car. This may change as offices start to open up again so will see how it goes. My company has just started a salary sacrifice ev scheme so that's a possibility. Test drove a Tesla Model 3 today and have a Polestar test in a couple of weeks.
  11. I guess the only thing would be to contact Lexus GB - clearly a manufacturing defect or the part not up to the task - to see if they would replace for free/make a contribution/sell at cost. In my case I'd prefer it to go all the way across rather than the half and half as it is at the moment, however I sold my GS yesterday so not something for me to worry about anymore.
  12. Those large fuses don't normally blow unless there is a major issue or user error such as connecting the battery the wrong way around. It does seem as if it could be the cause such as the main 60A and 80A fusebox fuses or the 150A ALT fuse which feeds many others. Not sure how easy it is to get to it on the IS. Normally you unbolt the fuse housing so you can get the wiring from underside to test and unbolt the connections to removed the fuse block if you need to replace. Make you you disconnect the battery before doing anything with it.
  13. It was also part of the Tech and Safety pack from launch until MY2021, where the Premium Pack Pro now has it. You don't need to go full Takumi 🙂 I don't find it works well though - certainly not on an iPhone with a camera bump - the gap it creates makes the charging intermittent and is very slow. The location is also very poor IMO.
  14. Happened on one of my pieces over the last few months - seemed to be the cold weather that caused it and got worse. All the other pieces are fine. Spoke to my dealer - trim isn't covered under warranty. Around £300 to replace that piece 😞 If it gets worse for you then either an expensive replacement or some carbon fibre effect wrap to cover it. Started on the left (the right patches are just reflections) then spread to as it is now.
  15. Definitely metal ones - you are relying on these to centre your wheels, if it is off you will get horrible vibrations.
  16. Would need to know the full spec of the wheels including offset and bore size. I think the bolt pattern is correct but the bore size is larger on most Honda and Mazda vehicles so you would need hub centric reducing rings.
  17. 🙂 No, because you have the simulated gears so you can drop down a 'gear' or two to produce the same result with more control.
  18. It's fine. If you get OEM wheels then they bolt straight on, even the 19" ones (although not advisable for GS F wheels as they are too wide for the standard GS). If you go aftermarket you need to make sure the wheels are the same stud pattern, PCD, offset and ideally hub-centric centring. Probably worth getting a full wheel alignment at the same time.
  19. Lexus call it a headrest and it serves two purposes, both comfort and safety. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. For vehicles that don't have active headrests (as found on the LS and RX for example which move forward in the event of a rear end impact) then current designs have moved the headrest permanently forward as an anti-whiplash feature. Depending on your posture, anatomy etc. some people find it uncomfortable - all you can really do is move your seat position to minimise any discomfort. Specifically for the CT seat design:
  20. I assume it looks fine on the phone screen? It seems to be a common complaint across various systems and down to poor quality LCD screen the car manufactures use. All you can try is to alter the contrast settings on the car - otherwise try Waze which has a higher contrast colour scheme.
  21. When you press the brake pedal lightly you aren't using mechanical brakes if you are traveling over 5 mph, you are using regenerative braking. Makes no different if you are in B mode or normal mode. This is why many hybrid owners can go 60k miles on a single set of discs where corrosion rather than wear eventually forces a replacement. B will apply more regen braking when you are off the throttle than normal, but is no different than just lightly pressing the brake pedal. If you are at higher speeds then B mode engages the petrol engine so you waste energy turning it over to help with deceleration and is there to stop overheating of your mechanical brakes during a long steep descent. In normal use B mode should not be used, it is uneconomical to do so. Back in the 60s when most, if not all, vehicles had drum brakes then there was case for engine braking. With modern disc brakes it isn't required unless towing or coming down very sleep and long descents where you could end up in a situation of brake fade. As someone has already stated above, it's much cheaper to replace worn pads/discs than it is to replace a clutch/transmission. People aren't taught to engine brake anymore, and whilst its allowed if you do it without using your brakes you would fail a driving test for incorrect use of the brakes.
  22. LPD show a bumper: https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-is/lexus-is-phase-i-1998-2005/lexus-is-1-genuine-body-parts/lexus-is-phase-1-front-bumper/ Which implies it is still available but they may not remove old items from their website so worth contacting them. There are 7 different bumper designs for different markets/models so you need to get the correct one, and toyodiy.com implies there is a design specifically for the IS300 SC which means finding a second hand one would be very difficult due to the low number of vehicles sold - I would have thought a normal saloon one would fit if that is all available.
  23. Lexus GB are aware (which is just Toyota GB) as they updated the blog and issued the press release. That is different from independent dealers being notified, and them taking notice of any communication. Hopefully within a couple of weeks the word, and equipment, will get to the dealers.
  24. It's a terminology thing. EV mode is when the hybrid system will switch off the ICE, essentially running on electric only, and illuminate the EV indicator on the dash. For the IS that can happen up to around 51 mph and is fully automatic. EV drive mode is a driving mode selected by the driver by pressing the EV button. This forces the vehicle into running on electric only and an 'EV mode' indicator appears on the dash. The max speed in this mode is 28 mph, after which you will get beeps and a message stating the mode has been cancelled (the same thing will happen if you press the accelerator too far and all for more power than the electric motor can provide by itself).
