  1. Same here. If they say that then respond with the fact that yourself and two other owners all have the same issue and have never sprayed liquid onto these trim pieces - and that is it also an issue in the US.
  2. It was a LOC member's car, and has been up for sale more than once over the years.
  3. Not sure it affected UK vehicles. There have been a couple of member that had a noisy low pressure fuel pump replaced under warranty. If you are out of warranty then you would have to pay for a new part as there is no recall on this. Any new firmware would be chargeable by a dealer, they don't tend to update be default during a service, only to fix owner issues. This thread also mentions the the high pressure fuel pumps which were recalled. Everyone should have had that done by now, but you can check here: https://forms.toyota.co.uk/recall-checker?lexus=true
  4. Yes but note that only the hybrid high voltage battery is covered by the HHC warranty, not any other part of the hybrid system.
  5. There is talk of essential servicing being stopped for servicing, pricing remains just for replacement of parts such as brake pads. Not sure if this is true or the fixed price element of the service has been stopped and dealers can choose their own pricing - you will need to contact them. Possibly they just do normal servicing and provide a discount. If you can get an essentials service it is a valid service from a warranty point of view.
  6. Yes there is, just cannot remember where it is. Either settings general or settings Nav.
  7. Keep it related to the OP and a GS or start your own thread in the lounge forum.
  8. you should be able to get them cheaper than that. Take a look at autodoc.co.uk. Just not sure how easy it will be to get the old ones out.
  9. Denso counterfeit checks: identify-counterfeit-denso-spark-plugs-white-paper-_pk3.pdf
  10. No, not in any meaningful way. Same battery has been used from 2013. Three weeks plus is normal and expected on a fully charged battery in good condition. What isn't fine is the covid situation where people haven't been using their vehicles enough to actually put enough charge back into the battery that has been consumed whilst being idle and therefore gradually the battery becomes more and more discharged, ultimately leading to a flat battery which also damaging the battery so that its capacity is reduced. You end up in a death spiral when the time it takes discharge the battery gets less and less until you cannot go more than a day or two without being able to start the car. This is no different than any other vehicle that uses a 12v lead acid battery. It's just that on the hybrid vehicles that battery is a little smaller than on a conventional vehicle and therefore it starts to happen sooner. The AA/RAC et al have all been busy helping people with all types of vehicles with flat batteries over the last year.
  11. Agreed. Provided the battery is outputting a voltage between 12v and 14.5 v then there shouldn't be a problem. Just don't try to turn on the ignition, open the power back door etc with the only power source connected to the OBDII connector, otherwise you will blow the fuse. If you have smart entry it is probably worth keeping the key fobs away from the vehicle as when they are near it can trigger the brake vacuum pump to energise.
  12. on the whole I say they do a good job too, except they don't check wheel alignment (other that visually looking at your tyres' wear pattern). Oh and they left a wrench/breaker bar in the bottom of my engine bay once - luckily it didn't move otherwise that could have been a very expensive mistake.
  13. Agreed, and most vehicles in the US have 100k miles schedule for plugs (the same engine/plugs) - just different markets, different expectations. It's certainly correct that dealers like to stick to their 60k/6 year schedule and will always change the plugs unless you specifically state (or even have to argue) that you don't want them done.
  14. Get some dodo juice cleaner and sealer. Once sealed you are good to wear jeans for 12 months before needing to redo.
  15. On all current Lexus vehicles, the plug interval is mileage only, no timeframe provided on the service schedule.
  16. Have you launched the app and tried to connect? At that point it would try and use bluetooth so you should get a popup to allow access and it would then appear in the privacy settings.
  17. seems a touch overpriced given this V8 for £6k less https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103170259676
  18. Maybe we are talking about different things. I was thinking of Carista (the app that allows you to change customisations / read fault codes - https://caristaapp.com ) which doesn't have any interaction with the MM screen.
  19. Go into settings > privacy > bluetooth and make sure Carista is enabled.
  20. No doubt because the car isn't sold with one so they have no spec for what is required. The official space saver has a part code 4261B-33010, but only seems to be used in the US and Cyprus. I'm sure other models (such as the RC one) will fit, but you really want to try before you buy.
  21. No, all the ESs sold in the UK have the same brakes so if you find a space saver that fits an ES it will fit models with 17, 18 or 19" wheels.
  22. If you select FedEx then VAT and duties are paid up front so there are no extra charges or admin fees. The only pitfall is the cost to return an item.
