  1. Get the F Sport if you want the looks and slightly better handling. Get the Premier if you want all the toys or sunroof. Get another grade with 16" or 17" wheels if you want the absolute best economy and softest ride. The Premier is fully spec'd so you know exactly what you are getting. With the F Sport Premium Navigation, ventilated leather seats, ML, Adaptive Suspension are all options so make sure you understand what each one has. Spec changes with the year but this is the spec of the different grades at launch 1375705165130805MISEquipList copy.pdf
  2. you need to adjust using the hinge bolts on the boot lid after first removing the trim. However be aware that the bolts fitted at the factory are centering ones and give you virtually no adjustment. If the boot is out of alignment then possibly the hinges are worn/bent. You will need replacement bolts if you want to adjust the gaps. Also make sure the striker hasn't moved and is pulling the boot across when it shuts.
  3. Seems correct unfortunately, and the problem with the Lexus fixed price servicing is that you pay that amount for your servicing as all dealers, whether based in London, South East or anywhere else, all have to charge the same amount. Once you get out of the fixed price element, repairs are definitely cheaper at some dealers than others - typically based on their location.
  4. because even though the 350 engine produces less CO2 than the 300, the emission bands changed at the same time, and to a greater degree, so the RX went from band K (RX300) to band M (RX350).
  5. No, you should still get a GPS signal. You need to go into the service mode to check if Satellites are being picked up:
  6. Current spec for the UK RC F is 457 bhp / 464 PS. 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds using launch control, 4.5 seconds without.
  7. You have the height control switch next to the heated seat controls (underneath the stereo) on vehicles with air suspension.
  8. Not sure you are going to get a reply, this is a 15 year old thread.
  9. I'd try some fallout remover and the polish before raising it with Lexus. Just looks like the middle area of the roof that doesn't get cleaned/polished as much as the rest.
  10. You got a good deal. Normally it's over £30 to get both replaced from a dealer.
  11. £4k to £5k premium is probably correct but the Rav starts at £46.5k and is better equipped than most current base level Lexus vehicles which hopefully means a starting price around £51k.
  12. It's down the the electric motors which are much more powerful than fitted to a normal Lexus hybrid as this one is designed to operate as a full EV for 30 odd miles. Identical to the current Toyota RAV4 plug-in in terms of engine/hybrid system/performance. An electric door opener rather than an internal mechanical door handle seems a bit unnecessary at first but its linked to the safety system so it won't open the door if a car or cyclist is coming past which is quite a cool feature.
  13. Did you check CarParts4Less? They are normally slightly cheaper than Euro even though they are the same company.
  14. at the top right of the screen there is an envelope icon to the right of your username - click on that to go to your messages.
  15. I mean internal condensation forming/MOT failure/replacement light cluster rather than external hazing of the plastic lens which can be sanded/polished/sealed.
  16. Yes you can turn it off. Menu > Setup > Vehicle on the main infotainment screen. If it is turned off you need to place the key fob next to the start button to turn on the ignition.
  17. New cars registered from Sept 2019 had to have a new WLTP figure but it wasn't until 1 April 2020 that the new figures were used for CO2 tax categorisation.
  18. All time numbers sold in the UK are 88,837 vs 21,901 in favour of the IS, and the GS had an 8 year (around 8,000 vehicles) head start before the IS launched in the UK.
  19. Download the full manual not the baby one that comes printed with the car.
  20. You cannot get AA/RAC comparable cover for the £125 that Lexus charge. If you don't need full European cover with onward travel for two individuals (not the vehicle) you can get it cheaper, but not like for like.
  21. I never purchased an extended warranty on any of my Lexus vehicles (except for my GS F - due to parts being so expensive for that if something were to fail, and it makes it easier to sell; gives the purchaser some reassurance) so I understand your argument. Some people just like the piece of mind and financial budgeting that the warranty provides. Your figures are slightly inflated though. Yes if you purchased 3 extended warranties it would have cost £3k over the six years but £175 pa covers breakdown and MOT which you would need to purchase separately so the true saving is around £2k rather than £3k. £2k should be enough for a lot of repairs, such as an O2 sensor or seized brake calliper, but a misting headlight at £1k or a sat nav screen at £2k makes quick work of those savings. But I guess if you are without warranty then you source a second hand replacement for a fraction of the price and don't use Lexus to carry out the work.
  22. If you are using Techstream then just use if for the central locking part as well rather than messing with doors etc.
  23. Most of that wouldn't have been covered on extended warranty and the paintwork has a warranty anyway. But the issue is the differences that are no longer covered such as headlights, exhaust, shock absorbers, engine mounts, multimedia system (which the assumption is that is the whole system headunit, amp, screen). Possibly the headlights stopped being covered on the very latest extended warranties but not supporting the multimedia system which would cost thousands to replace is a concern. Whether Lexus still choose to cover these items remains to be seen, but by the letter of the contract they certainly don't have to.
