  1. Yes that is correct; I've been wasting my time! Seems to have been a very recent change which now makes it part of the MOT:
  2. It doesn't. The engine itself isn't a problem (although the MK1 and MK2 have different revisions of the same engine so aren't the same). But the fuel pump, injectors, rails are all different.
  3. Have you properly checked the speed sensors are operating correctly using a scope? Correct voltage, no excessive noise etc.
  4. No, it tells you their records only go back that far not that E10 isn't compatible.
  5. Haven't switched on front fogs on any car for 20+ years other than to check they were working before an MOT. I've had to change the glass lens due to stone damage more often than I've actually used them.
  6. It should be changed every 2 years/20k miles. Worth getting one with carbon in it to reduce odours and well as filter out particles of dirt.
  7. It 'should' be okay but the information only goes back to 1998 so we cannot be certain. Lexus GB won't be able to help you either 😞
  8. There is more to it than just the circumference. Rim width and offset may push your wheel outside of the bodywork which is illegal in the uk, or push it into the suspension, and rim width and tyre width need to be compatible with each other. But you are only going from 16 to 17 inch so I cannot see there being any problem with such a small change, and 225 on an 8" rim is fine.
  9. It was an option for the 450h Premier before the facelift, not available on any 300h grades. After the facelift all grades had it as part of Lexus Safety System+
  10. I'm struggling to orientate myself with that picture but it's possibly the air suspension compressor given that you have an SE-L.
  11. If you have read a P1651 error then I'm not sure what you are expecting other diagnostic equipment to tell you - you have a P1651 error, that is a very specific error, not generic. That is an ACIS vacuum valve (VSV) fault. The reason the error doesn't come back immediately is that the ACIS valve isn't opened unless you rev the engine passed a certain rpm (around 3,500+). It's quite labour intensive to replace it unfortunately, see here: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/51687-p1651-code/?do=findComment&comment=560013
  12. All Lexus vehicles built (not registered) Oct 2007 onwards sold in Europe are fine for E10 including all CTs. There are specific IS, GS and LS models built between 2005 and 2007 that cannot use E10, outside of those all vehicles since 1998 are fine.
  13. Nothing wrong with that, but it depends if you are taking a permanent 12v or a switched one. If you are taking a permanent one so you can record when you leave the vehicle unattended does your cam have voltage detection to shut down if the battery is getting low, and at what voltage does it shut down? Many wait until the voltage is way too low and damage has already been caused to the battery.
  14. Yes it's fine to use the front for charging/jumping but as you have found, if the battery is really flat then you will trigger the alarm 😞 If the boot won't release when you provide power then the only other option is to use the mechanical release which means climbing into the boot by lowering the seats which is a pain:
  15. Red aren't track pads and don't need to be heated before they work but may be a little worse in this regard than OEM. The range goes Green, Red, Yellow, Blue. Green is best suited to smaller vehicles, Red is for larger vehicle road use, Yellow is high performance road/light track and Blue is track.
  16. That occurred when the jump battery was connected. The alarm will go off as it is detecting voltage fluctuations - this is an anti-tamper mechanism.
  17. When you had the jump start cables attached where you able to quickly open the boot? You can then disconnect everything and charge.
  18. Are you able to charge the battery? I'd disconnect it from the vehicle and fully charge it rather than trying a jumpstart. That way all the systems have enough power to turn on which means the key should be detected and you can turn off the alarm.
  19. For me bluetooth. More reliable, less battery usage on the phone and connects automatically once set up on my iPhone whereas with WiFi I'd need to go into hotspot setting to allow a connection each time. Bluetooth has a lower data throughput but the vehicle isn't using enough for that to be a problem. But it doesn't really matter - personal choice.
  20. At launch you have Toyota press / Toyota GB staff vehicles and many of the dealers purchasing demonstrators so the vast majority of registrations occurred in 2015.
  21. Yes (although it will be the 2022 NX). It will use the A25A-FXS engine which is currently in the ES300h and the current RAV4. It appears the hybrid system is going to be tweaked slightly though to get it more power - which is probably the reason it will be the NX350h rather than NX300h. The NX450h will also use the same engine.
  22. If your hybrid battery is low then you cannot select EV, that is normal, and it is also normal for the hybrid battery to be low from time to time. More often than not I get the more generic EV mode is not available at the moment message when the hybrid battery has plenty of charge. Just seems to be to the way the hybrid system has been tweaked on the UX.
