  1. I'd not recommend using a diode because the 0.6 V drop across it would mean the charging voltage at the battery is not correct. Maybe fit a little switch inside which breaks the circuit when you don't want to use it. Also fit an inline fuse so that if the socket/external wiring is shorted it doesn't damage your battery or melt the internal wiring to the socket and start a fire.
  2. I'm locking this thread because you keep asking the same question.
  3. I'm surprised there are so many Range and Land Rovers on the list; I would have thought it would be difficult to find enough that will start and actually drive away 😉
  4. I wouldn't say you need to unless you experience the cooling fans being on a large percentage of the time. I believe all the European RX450hs have the transmission oil cooler at the side as well (in front of the near side front wheel) with the air coming in under the fog light as going out vent slots in the wheel arch liner.
  5. No, I just think the system noticed the pressure drop and/or when pressurising it took too long (because it was compressing air in the system). Even using the official bleeding procedure you may get the same errors you have: While performing air bleeding, the accumulator pressure drop may cause a buzzer to sound. As there is no problem, continue with air bleeding. During air bleeding, DTCs for pressure sensor malfunctions, etc. may be stored. After air bleeding and if instructed in the procedures, clear the DTCs.
  6. I believe the dealership will always advise 3 months as they need those payments to get their kickback from the finance company. If you cancel within the cooling-off period then I believe technically the finance company could ask for any financial contribution back but I've never heard of any company doing that.
  7. Given that you can only legally use fog lights when visibility is 100 metres or less I've not switched mine on for 15+ years so I don't really care what colour light that produce, and my GS didn't have them anyway 😉
  8. The current RAV is very good, not sure you can say the same about the previous version which a 2016 would be. For age of vehicle you are looking at, the RX is in an entirely different league and the RAV is closer to the NX anyway (share the same platform).
  9. If not you may need to drill a hole in both parts and use a screw thread or other metal rod to give it more strength together with an epoxy adhesive.
  10. Adds to the cost of the vehicle when Lexus are trying to hit a specific price point for Europe, and I suspect for the average demographic the CT in Europe is aimed at wouldn't put it down as a desired feature. I guess they could have provided just on the F Sport but I don't believe they added it in any country other than Japan.
  11. I only thing I can suggest is to clear the error codes (disconnect the battery if you have no other means) and let the system self-test and re-pressurise again. Really you should use Techstream and follow the correct procedure to change the fluid or bleed the system.
  12. Yes, brake fluid is DOT3. The steering fluid spec is an ATF, Dexron II or III.
  13. Why? You don't have to worry about the charge level in the hybrid battery.
  14. I think there is so little difference between them that you would struggle to tell them apart - certainly any mpg difference couldn't accurately be measured on the road and there are too many external influences such as wind, temperature, congestion etc. Never heard anything bad said about Tesco Momentum, if you are lucky enough to live near an outlet it's good value.
  15. Welcome, TOC members always welcome here on LOC, especially when their new vehicle and an L badge on the front 🙂 I can't believe Toyota still don't have a BEV on sale in the UK, well a car that is as the Proace isn't for everyone.
  16. Nope I really don't think so, and whilst your voltage is a little low it would need to be down < 11v to trigger the alarm voltage sensor, at which point you would struggle to power up the vehicle again so I'd rule out the battery for now.
  17. This should be the correct one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254921892458?hash=item3b5a87626a:g:adgAAOSwi1Zd8lWM Not 100% sure if the boot floor is exactly the same if you have a standard diff or TVD though.
  18. If you have a volt/multi meter then measure the voltage of the 12v battery before putting the vehicle in Ready mode - the voltage has to be quite low for the alarm to trigger. It may very well be a spider, insect or a 🐍 🙂. Just turning off the interior sensor is the best way to determine if it is interior movement, which is the most common cause for false alarms, or something more serious such as a sensor or battery issue.
  19. Faulty O2 sensor can cause a misfire on that entire bank so I'd recommend you don't ignore it.
  20. It stops the possibility of a relay attack, and reduces battery drain a little which could be useful if leaving the vehicle for days. It doesn't stop key cloning - which isn't an issue anyway without physical access to the key. Unfortunately not, it isn't available on the RC.
  21. The smart water kits come with window stickers to act as a deterrent which will hopefully avoid it being taken. If it is then it can be identified which hopefully means it becomes worthless which means the thieves will take more notice the next time. subria88 already answered that; older cats are worth more money.
  22. Yes, you need to check for any error codes first. The fact that it is going into 4th rules out the temperature sensor and control (which limits 4th gear or higher when cold) so it is likely to be a shift solenoid and if one has open or short resistance you will get an error code. If no codes then it could be a sticking solenoid or poor quality ATF or low fluid level.
