What on earth are you talking about? There are millions of semi-detached and terraced houses with driveways, and flats with off-street dedicated parking spaces that could have charging points installed.

The 300e boot floor is lower so the boot has more depth. It isn't that much bigger though. You can remove the floor on the 250h but it is only partial. Personally if I only have a couple of shopping bags I put them behind the front seats rather than in the boot to help keep them upright.

Until you have plugged in a scan tool and identified the error codes produced it is just speculation what the problem may be.

When you move to neutral you take load off the engine and the rpm increases slightly - that increase in rpm means the alternator produces more power which is clearly just above the threshold for the warning light to go out. Either your idle speed is too low in drive (under 500 rpm?) or the alternator isn't working correctly.

The GS series III (2006-2011) has been know to have rare problems with the hybrid battery but I've not heard of a single failure on the series IV (2012-2019). As above from Herbie, Lexus will provide a 15 year warranty on the battery provided you have a check every 10k miles/12 months (whichever comes first).

Yeah you need the main system full before measuring the drop otherwise anything you put in the expansion bottle will just be used to fill up the system. If your top hose wasn't full then you have lost quite a lot of coolant so that all needs to be replaced, then you can see how quickly it is being lost.

It's very difficult to see if the water pump is leaking on the RX as it is on the side of the engine (drivers side) and mainly covered over. The other coolant tank by the battery is for the hybrid inverter - its an independent system so I wouldn't worry about that, although the coolant level on that needs to be between min and max.

I wouldn't assume it has suddenly dumped all its coolant, you could have a leaking water pump for example and you have been slowly loosing coolant that hasn't been a problem until you are stuck in traffic on a very hot day. Ready mixed Toyota SLLC is recommended (pink coolant), a compatible ready-mixed alternative in Halfords is an option, distilled water at a push and tap water in an emergency. Fill it up and see how long it takes to go - if it is head gasket you will get it pushed out the overflow expansion vent and/or white smoke from the exhaust. Look at the engine for any signs of pink stains where coolant may have been leaking.

Yes. Depending on how cold the coolant is you may not see much. If you squeeze the top radiator hose you should see coolant come up to the top. You can also try adding some coolant, you won't get much in there if the system is full.

Maybe but a simple coolant temp sensor covers low coolant, thermostat issues, radiator blockage etc. etc. A level on the coolant expansion bottle would just give you pre-warning on one issue, and the level within the actual pressurised coolant system may be fine. The sensor also becomes a potential leak point on the system. Toyota engines rarely have oil level sensors as well - just rely on the owner to do periodic checks.

You can also check the level from the radiator cap but not sure if you need to remove some of the plastic covers to get to it - it's located at the other end of the radiator to the expansion bottle. Worth looking at the radiator fins to see if they are blocked with dirt or large areas bent over. You will lose efficiency over time which means it may not be able to hope when the weather is very hot.

No it wouldn't. There is no coolant level sensor on the RX400h, or any other Lexus that I can think of in the last 20 years. If you have a coolant issue that results in a dangerous engine temperature you will get the engine temp warning light come on. Try shining a touch through the expansion tank to see the level.

It's built into the price of the service (major) so not exactly free but nice that you got it done, my two locals dealers don't have the equipment 😞

That's pretty much any Toyota engine in the last 25 years. They all have knock sensors and variable timing. But the advantages are minimal in everyday driving, and mainly slight mpg improvements rather than power, even for the F vehicles.

There is always the odd pump that seems over sensitive but I never had a specific issue with my IS300h. I always push the nozzle in as far as it goes then draw it out just a few cms and let it drop down.

Saloon vehicles are no longer in demand, and big Lexus saloons never had been, so will continue to depreciate faster than SUVs. The NX may take a hit with the new model, unless the new model is more expensive, but will still be less than the GS. The RX has always held up well, even with newer generations, mainly because it always came with a price rise.

The Polestar I test drove had two interior rattles and a boot lid that didn't align to the rear wing, whereas the Tesla had no issues.

I was just going to state that the socket is fine for interior placement but certainly not suitable for exterior as it has no IP rating/moisture protection. That last thing you want is water to get into it and actually cause a parasitic drain on your battery.

Welcome David. As others have said, up to £200 and that update is just a map update, it doesn't give you any improved functionality. Personally I'd invest in a phone mount and use whatever app you prefer.

Very different vehicles, depends on your needs. The GS is certainly smoother and more powerful, be that the 300h or 450h, but it is a saloon not an SUV. The NX would definitely depreciate less.
