  1. It depends what you mean by key cloning. The remotes uses rolling codes so you cannot just record/reply the signal they transmit. Cloning is only possible with physical access to the key, and programming a new key requires access to the vehicle and a master key. For relay attacks you need to keep your keys in a metal box/RF pouch, temporarily turn off the remote by pressing keys as per Eddie's reply after each time you use it (or when you specifically want protection), or turn off the smart entry system completely from the vehicle's menu system. As stated above, the NX isn't a big theft target so I'm not aware of anyone installing something like a Ghost immobiliser in one. I know several people use the steering locks, sorry don't know which ones would fit under the seat.
  2. Every 6 months normally, although I'd not recommend anyone pays for updates that frequently.
  3. I guess it's more frequent quicker visits to the petrol station for you then 😉
  4. If the compressor is driven mechanically via the engine (as in the case of the RX300) then it may not be spinning fast enough at idle to give maximum cooling, in a similar way to the alternator not putting out full power at idle, so not just the cooling effect from air movement.
  5. I'm not surprised if you had Pilot Sport 4(s) tyres fitted - being ultra high-performance tyres I cannot really think of less suitable boots for the CT200h. In the Michelin world Primacy 4 or even CrossClimate+ would be much more suitable - quieter, more comfortable, better economy and probably better wear.
  6. Yes. Depending on the grade either of those wheel sizes may have been fitted to the vehicle - they don't use a specific label for each grade. The label on the door is for the recommended tyre pressures - you use the pressure(s) associated to the wheel/tyre option you have installed on your vehicle. Obviously you cannot fit 16" tyres if you have 17" rims.
  7. This is the main reason for Smart Water marking, you can prove the item found in their possession has been stolen.
  8. You won't get 400 miles range in the RC F. Expect 280 miles, anything more is a bonus. If economy is any sort of concern you shouldn't be thinking of an F.
  9. Using a lower gear to assist the braking is fine, using the lowest gear instead of the brakes is taking it too far IMO.
  10. All CT200h can run on E10 fuel without any problems.
  11. It depends how long the descent is. If you are in danger of overheating the brakes to the point they might fade then you want to use engine braking as much as possible to avoid that situation, otherwise let the brakes do the work - cheaper to replace pads and discs than transmissions.
  12. Dealers have fitted these to the ES.
  13. What tyres do you have? I only have three primary tread bands on the OEM tyres so not sure how they can take 4 readings?
  14. The alignment check at Reading or Guildford consists for the mechanic looking at the tyres and saying the wear looks (un)even 😡
  15. I'm assuming these are ex-showroom vehicles that have come up for sale - seems to be quite a few all at the same price, so the price has probably been set by Toyota GB. The list price of the UX300e has also been reduced across all the grades by approximately £ 2,200.
  16. If it sounds like the attached then it is the pws. pws.mp3
  17. It is probably the pedestrian warning system.
  18. 28.8 mpg is appalling, but it depends how you drive it and what sort of journeys you are doing.
  19. Welcome Neil 🙂 Best to start a thread in the IS250 C forum.
  20. Yes Silicone spray is great at lubricating door seals and hard plastics to stop creaking noises. The WD40 branded spray isn't expensive but you can also find cheaper alternatives at Screwfix or plumbers merchants as it is used for fitting push-fit waste/soil pipes.
