  1. I've found the cruise control on newer Lexus vehicles allows the vehicle to speed up when going down hill, all my older Toyota/Lexus vehicles have managed to maintain a speed within 1 mph of the set speed. Happens at low or high speed. Seems the standard CC doesn't operate the brakes, only throttle, whereas dynamic CC uses brakes as well. Your vehicle seems to be behaving as designed.
  2. BSM / RCTA uses two radar sensors near the rear corners to give side/rear detection. You arguably don't need BSM with the digital mirrors as you don't have a blind spot, but the system is independent and you need it for RCTA. Plus a warning light is quicker/easier to see compared to fully scanning the mirror/screen.
  3. T-Cut is too abrasive IMO, something like Meguires Scratch X is a safer option.
  4. Yes. If you push the pedal down all the way then the vehicle assumes you want maximum power and that is achieved by the engine revving close to the redline. None of this inefficient slowly building up the revs or getting up to peak power and then losing it because you have to change gear and the revs drop away again.
  5. I'm pretty confident that CR1616 is the correct battery for the IS200.
  6. You have to press and hold the button. It's a dealer option to change whether this is enabled or not on the vehicle, or DIY using Carista or Techstream.
  7. It's a good point, and something that has caused issues in the past. I cannot believe that dealers would still get this wrong a decade after the CT launched, given that virtually all current vehicles use 0/16w or 0/20w oil so they should always have plenty. Certainly worth asking, but I doubt they would admit the mistake even if they knew they had put in the wrong oil 😞
  8. You certainly shouldn't expect an improvement in mpg after a service if you keep to the schedule - the service schedule is designed to replace parts before they degrade the operation of the engine/vehicle (e.g. the plugs would probably go on for another 40k miles without issue, although you start to run a slight risk of tips breaking off and causing damage to the cylinders). The dealer may have disconnected the battery during the service - a reset of the ECU will mean it could take a couple of weeks to relearn everything back to your driving style.
  9. sounds like the oil is self-changing 😉
  10. P2797 is a common problem for the GS450h - pump fault due to bearing failure - multiple people have followed the information on the thread Herbie linked to above to resolve this issue.
  11. Yes I believe so, I'm not aware of any change between 2001 and 2002 to the stereo.
  12. I think the level sensor is just an on/off switch to detect if oil level is below minimum rather than having the ability give an accurate level reading.
  13. Different options were available, most have a leather upgrade but not all. This shows the grade differences at launch in 2013: IS equipment 2013.pdf
  14. Welcome 🙂 I don't think it is specifically worth going for a facelift IS, just get one within your budget. For the NX I'd recommend a facelift model, there were more noticeable improvements.
  15. I imagine the tyres are made in-region so unlikely they will be producing that size for the European market. You may have to consider a set of (smaller) winter wheels/tyres.
  16. On the facelift models bottom section is different: The part is called the COVER, REAR BUMPER, LOWER - diffuser is a bit of a stretch 😉. All the mounting are probably the same so I expect you could fit a facelift bumper to a pre-facelift vehicle.
  17. If you have side indicators (repeaters) on the wing mirrors rather than the front wings then you have a facelift model.
  18. CT has a 201.6 V battery pack, the UX uses a 216 V one. The electric motor operates at 650 VAC on both the CT and UX, and both can produce 80 bhp. The biggest difference is the newer hybrid systems assist the petrol engine more that previous generations, rather than just switching to EV mode. The UX does however have the ability to switch into EV at speeds greater than 70 mph, something the CT cannot (max around 50 mph). The UX is a full hybrid. Those mild hybrid 48 V efforts are not much more than start/stop vehicles. The UX doesn't quite have the economy of the CT, it has a bigger more powerful ICE and it is a less aerodynamic/larger vehicle, but it is much more refined.
