  1. Diodes or capacitors would be my guess. Either a PSU rail or CPU reset circuitry not working as it should - I doubt the microcontroller has failed.
  2. I can tell you that the information you are looking for won't be there. Lexus treat the unit as a non-repairable assembly that is swapped out - you will find removal/installation instruction but certainly no service information for the product itself - only Pioneer would have that and they won't provide it as it is OEM, and even if not they would be unlikely to unless you are an authorised repair centre.
  3. Sorry but I have to ask, did you switch it on? I find iPhones and car charge pads don't work well - seems the camera bump and a case stop it working effectively so you may see it start and stop charging as you drive.
  4. No, it's the transmission oil cooler and there should be an air duct on the front of it to make sure air passes thought the fins. Looks like the bracket at the top is still there, and the other one to the side where the pipes enter/exit - may just need to be bent back into place. Make sure there is no leaks coming from it or the pipes - it there is then don't use the vehicle as you don't want to run the transmission with low fluid.
  5. F Sport white is a very clean, bright metallic white. The other white is a sonic 5 layer (almost pearlescent) paint which changes colour more in different lighting conditions. I've not seen them side by side but I'd say the sonic white is darker, with a slight silver/cream cast to it.
  6. The latest press material and price list still show 4 different leather trim options so possibly just an error on the online configurator.
  7. If it is a Luxury then it is AWD. From launch only the base S model was 2WD, until the end of 2017 with the facelift, with all other grades AWD. Then with the facelift the SE could be 2WD or AWD with all other grades AWD. In 2019 when they changed the grading to NX, F Sport and Takumi the 2WD was dropped, but it came back again in mid 2020 for the base NX model as an option. If you want to be 100% sure then look at the energy screen on the infotainment screen, it will show both motors if they exist:
  8. All the same, you can reach peak power in all modes.
  9. What parts are you looking for and what vehicle?
  10. both the US and UK seem to have all 11 factory colours available?
  11. Yes, with or without AVS the RC F and GS F use Sachs monotubes. My rears started to mist so not immune but the issue didn't develop whilst I had the vehicle. I imagine the GS models use KYB, they are Toyota's main OEM but there are 20+ different part numbers for the different variants of GS so some may be other OEMs. It is a shame the shocks aren't covered by Relax, they were covered under the old extended warranty 😞
  12. Hi Andrei I'm sure it would be possible to replace the bearing but I'm not aware of anyone having done that yet. Until you get it apart and remove the old bearings you won't know that size you need as Lexus treat this as a single sub-assembly with no specifications available or disassembly instructions. To date people who have had the same issue here on LOC have just purchased a second-hand replacement diff from a vehicle dismantler. If you do manage to get the diff apart and replace the bearing then if you are able to post the bearing code(s) needed if would be appreciated by other members who may suffer this issue in the future.
  13. Dampers on the GS F are completely different to the ones on the GS but certainly that can mist too although may not indicate a fault according to Sachs who are the OEM - MOT may give an advisory but Lexus won't replace them under warranty, be that manufactures, used or Relax until there are other symptoms.
  14. Not sure if the IS200 does this (it's been a while since I've owned one) but many vehicles run their fans if the AC is on - worth checking when your AC is off.
  15. It could be the coolant sensor. Being able to log the data is dependant on the software you have with your OBD2 reader and the quality/speed of the reader itself. It may be that you just watch a single sensor reading until you get fluctuation to see if the sensor reading corresponds. You shouldn't need to recalibrate the TPS if you didn't move it, but opening the throttle butterfly has been known to cause issues in the past. Attached is the procedure for checking that calibration of the TPS and pedal position sensor. m_fi_0037.pdf
  16. Several applications of penetrating oil over a 24 hour period should help free it up.
  17. Most manufacturers state 7c on their winter tyres but it is more about at what temperatures does your summer tyre's performance drop to below the winter tyre and that can vary between manufactures and models. I'd say once the majority of your driving occurs in single digit temperatures it is time to swap over.
  18. They do yes. Some people like to disable the feature to stop the possibility of a relay attack allowing the vehicle to be stolen if your keys are within range of the outside of your house (store them in a RF pouch or metal box to be safe), or because they aren't using their vehicle that often due to Covid and want to slightly reduce battery drain.
  19. Looking at the parts catalogue there appears to be only one part number for this across the entire life of the 400h (05 to 09, and the same part is used on the later 450h as well), so there shouldn't be any issue with incompatibility. Small electrical connectors look corrosion free, difficult to see the main 3 phase motor connections with the pictures supplied but hopefully they are okay as well. Whether the mechanicals are any good is obviously a bit of a gamble with a 90k miles used part but you have the 3 month warranty. Just make sure you pull the HV battery isolator on your vehicle and wait 10 mins before you start to remove the electrical connections on your existing motor.
  20. Idle suddenly jumping up sounds like a sensor acting up (or air bubbles around the coolant temperature sensor). Ideally you want to log the data from the ECU so you can see if an abnormal sensor reading occurs at the point in time when the idle jumps up. Have you checked the throttle position sensor for calibration?
  21. It's normal. Toyota always use a high idle when cold to speed up the warming process - it produces less emissions than idling at a lower speed for longer.
  22. It should be very clear on the Lexus website that a particular centre is a service & parts only centre. There are a few of them, typically another location is owned by the same company which has the full facilities - unfortunately there aren't enough sales in some parts of the country to justify the expense of maintaining a showroom.
