Windows still have water after i roll them down
ColinBarber replied to Tynisteri's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
Please don't duplicate posts - I've removed your other one on the same subject. It's been a long time since I owned an IS200 but I believe they never really wiped the windows well, the glass seemed to move slightly away from the seal and you had to apply a bit of pressure on the glass as it went down to keep it pressed against the rubber (which only works on the driver's side). I may be wrong however that it is just that your rubber seals are worn or just aren't as flexible as they were when new. -
You cannot get Intelligent Go then, but just the standard Go tariff may benefit you. The 4 hours cheap rate period is more than enough time to charge any PHEV including the 450h+.

Any sport oem things to get for my is?
ColinBarber replied to Tynisteri's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
If yours isn't a Sport then the mesh front grille and rear spoiler are two obvious mods - these aren't available from Lexus anymore. Best to look at eBay/scrap yards or third party suppliers. -
Octopus Go is available to anyone with a smart meter (which Octopus can install if required). To go on their EV tariff (Intelligent Octopus Go) you need either a supported charger or supported vehicle (not Lexus) so they can control charging times - it doesn’t need to be installed by them but they can offer that service.

No common issues have been reported here. Possibly too early to understand long term reliability but the system should inherently be more reliable than air suspension due to less complexity.

Don't know about that product but consider Dynax-UC (UB is better but not clear): https://bilthamber.com/product/dynax-uc/

Driving in Europe - headlight beam adjustment
ColinBarber replied to Maxz's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
All UK Lexus vehicles with HID/Xenon or LED lights have a flat beam pattern and therefore don't require stickers. -
Very impressed
ColinBarber replied to Dells's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Typically a ceramic coating treatment would include a lot of prep to remove all swirl marks and holograms - that's more than an hour's work before you even apply the coating. -
Home Charger
ColinBarber replied to Proud RX Owner's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It would depend on the length of the cable run and how it is fixed/contained. If the existing cable is 6mm SWA then you will probably be ok, if it's 6mm T&E then possibly not. Whoever is doing the charging install would need to assess and redesign as appropriate as they are going to have to sign off the work as compliant with current regulations. -
Electric Tariff UX E …Best deals on RZ
ColinBarber replied to Yorkshire Lexus's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
That would depend on how much usage you can shift to the off-peak period (e.g. dishwasher, washing machine etc. delay start to overnight). Octopus Go off-peak is only 4 hours (8.5p (four hours) / 24.5p) - this is okay if you don't have a charger/car that supports Intelligent Octopus Go (7p (six hours) / 24.5p). -
Flat Battery Experience
ColinBarber replied to guinchy's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Yes, it will be fine for the LBX, or any other Lexus hybrid. -
Normally an owner doesn't have to concern themselves with the hybrid battery. It is has a low self-discharge rate, is completely isolated when the vehicle is power off so nothing is consuming its energy, and the charge level indicator the driver sees in reality only represents about 60% of the total battery capacity - there is a large buffer at the top and bottom end to protect the battery and maintain performance even if the battery degrades. Once you are leaving the vehicle for 3+ months then you need to think about it. Using the method you describe will allow you to bring up the state of charge higher than the vehicle will normally do itself which gives you a few more months before you would need to repeat the procedure to charge it back up - but at that point you would want to start the engine to lubricate it, pump up the tyres, move the vehicle so you aren't creating permanent flat spots on the tyres etc. The easiest solution where possibly is to put the vehicle into Ready mode every couple of months, let the engine start and once it stops then the hybrid battery has enough charge to go another couple of months without issue. The bigger issue is keeping the 12v battery charged.

Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series (2023) Photos
ColinBarber replied to TomLC500h's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
The Inspiration model is essentially an LC Sport Plus Pack with a chrome delete, however the black paint is also different to normal black available on the LC.- 8 replies

Navigation was really the only factory option. You could get styling kit, wheels, parking sensors and illuminated door sill scuff plates as dealer fit accessories - all of those are nearly impossible to find now, but there was a big third part mod scene for the Altezza/IS200/IS300 back in the day, mainly from Japanese or American companies, and many of those parts are still available.

12v Battery monitor.
ColinBarber replied to DaveGoddard's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
These work well if you want to peridocially and manually keep an eye on the voltage but you would only get an alert if you are stay within bluetooth range so isn't a good solution if you aren't taking the time to check and just expect a automatic notification that its time to charge the battery. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-Monitor-Campervans-Compatible-bluetooth/dp/B08VHMJYXY -
This is incorrect. The petrol engine running and the charge state of the 12v battery are unconnected. The petrol engine runs to charge up the hybrid/traction battery and will shut down as soon as it has sufficient charge (and the engine has reached a safe operating temperature). The 12v battery is charged by the hybrid system once in Ready mode. It charges at a relatively low current so, depending on state of charge, you would need 60+ minutes to charge it up.
-
Short trips with a cold engine kill the mpg. Worse in the colder months when you need cabin heating, rear window defroster etc..
-
If you were leaving a Lexus hybrid for six months I would firstly make sure the hybrid traction battery did have at least 50% charge by using the method you described and either connect a trickle charger or just disconnect the 12v battery. Otherwise you would need to put the vehicle into Ready mode for an hour each week just to let the car recharge the 12v battery before it gets too flat.

Amp location - NX300h
ColinBarber replied to Khurram's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
If you have the basic 8 speaker audio system then it is built into the headunit. If you have the 10 or 14 speaker audio system with a sub (item 11) then you have a separate amp as shown in the diagram. There is only one location it is fitted, which is shown as item 1. -
It is lighter (around 100 kg), not as much as you think is this is a PHEV with a larger battery, plus the ever growing size of each generation of vehicle.

They changed their mind, but only the plug in variant. https://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/prius-plugin

I've never paid the extra insurance cover when it was a recall - the dealer gets money from Lexus to cover the cost (and additional money for extra petrol). Any dealer charging you has made a mistake, has a member of staff in need of training or is taking advantage of the situation.
