  1. All the best Terry, I'm sure you will enjoy your new car. What did you go for, a MY?
  2. If the noise is too much for you then you back off the throttle a little and the engine revs drop.
  3. That's how I read it but Linas interpreted another way so just seeking clarity. If it was playing up before then two different cards and a software update hasn't resolved the issue - I'd conclude that the nav unit is at fault. Possibly dirty contacts on the SD reader but I don't see how that happens if the original card isn't removed prior to the fault developing.
  4. to clarify, where you having the issue with the old card as well as the new one, or has this only started happening since the new card and the system update?
  5. SE is the middle spec, and well equipped. Sat Nav is an option, so if it has that make a point of mentioning it. You can post an advert, but please do so in the For sale forum and follow the template outlined in the rules posting within the forum. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/116-lexus-cars-for-sale/
  6. Lexus' official site might be cheaper than your dealer: https://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/Home/Index IMO the Sat Nav is poor whether you update the maps or not. My advise is get a phone mount and use Apple/Google maps, Waze or some other navigation app.
  7. Has it? I never heard of organised cat thief in 1998. I agree that they don't seem to be doing enough today on their current vehicles (although they aren't typically a target) but I'm not sure you can criticise the design of the original Prius or even the 400h when it wasn't an issue back then. Apparently many standard petrol cars are now being targeted, too much money being made to limit your opportunities to just hybrid vehicles.
  8. Welcome Richard, sorry you are joining in sad circumstances. Do you have access to the V5 document, that should state the trim level. If you look at the VIN (on passenger side inside the door) you will find the colour code (3 characters highlighted below (bottom left)) It is probably 8R6, which is called Brechin Slate in the UK (Breakwater blue is an American name for the same colour code).
  9. I'm not sure there is too much to look out for, other than the normal things with any vehicle. The RX450h is very reliable. Power tailgate can cause problems so definitely check that a couple of times. Air suspension is probably worth avoiding at that age but an SE-I won't have that anyway.
  10. That's not true. They definitely went through a phase of not using SS exhausts but the more modern ones do. e.g. all CT200h/IS300h/NX300h/RX450h/GS F etc. have SS manifolds and exhaust. What grade and gauge of SS is used is another matter.
  11. What's your definition of cold? -14 deg C is pretty cold in my mind, and this car is able to charge at 175 kW.
  12. That one isn't great generally as it only has old models in Europe, but should be fine for your IS
  13. just use 7zap.com or toyodiy.com etc. online.
  14. The press release spec sheet mentions sequential turn lights across all grades, right back at launch and still today. However I believe it is wrong. The rear indicators are too small to have any sequential lighting, and whilst the front ones seem capable I've never seen one do it - my wife's car certainly doesn't. 02/2019: 02/2022:
  15. I suspect you have a break in the wire when your steering is turned passed a certain angle and as the signal stops, the vehicle thinks the wheel is locked and applies ABS to try and free it. It could be either front left or right sensor. You can do a basic test with a meter, you will obviously need to move the steering or play around with the cable to see if you can interrupt continuity. But it may not be a total break with just the signal being attenuated/distorted where you would need an oscilloscope to see that whist the wheel was turning.
  16. To prevent rust, plus if you do open the sunroof at some point you don't want a couple of litres of water falling on you.
  17. This should tell you when you go through to purchase one: https://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/Home/Index
  18. There is no TSB for this issue in the UK, there is no warranty/recall. I've never seen a single post on these forums for this issue, across any Lexus model in the UK. So I wonder if it is mainly related only to vehicles made in North America rather than Japan with a different parts supplier. Or it mainly occurs in hot climate countries. Potentially your vehicle has had a replacement evaporator installed which wasn't a genuine part and is breaking down. Whatever the reason it seems the only solution is to get it replaced, but the airways will be contaminated so you are likely to still get dust for a prolonged period afterwards.
  19. No there is not. Standard warranty is 3 year/60k miles. The new Lexus Relax extended warranty you get when your vehicle is serviced by an authorised Lexus dealer only covers vehicles up to 10 years old.
  20. The 10.3" screen only became a thing on the MY2017 facelift model so there won't be many about. here's one: https://archiwum.allegro.pl/oferta/lexus-is-200t-300h-mark-levinson-radio-ekran-2018r-i7818932323.html
  21. The 10" screen models have a different infotainment system which makes use of the larger screen. If you just changed the screen then you would just have a slightly larger image, if you could get it to work. You could purchase all the parts from Lexus but it would cost several thousand to do so.
  22. If the vehicle qualifies then yes it would be covered, subject to the T&Cs.
  23. I changed the setting myself for my wife's UX, but I don't see why a dealer would not do it for you. Many owners who upgrade their Lexus will want it changed to the default behaviour they were use to.
  24. you can get your dealer to change that behaviour, or someone with Techstream so you don't have to unlock first.
  25. The price for the car, options, delivery charge is fixed when you place your order and pay the deposit, therefore you aren't affected by a list price increase for the product. The price you pay for vehicle excise duty however is based on the list price at the time of registration, not order, and therefore you are affected by a list price increase. If your car price goes over the £ 40k threshold then your 2nd to 6th year road tax will have the £ 335 premium car tax added.
