  1. OEM pad material for the European Lexus LS430 is T4146 - which is Textar. Very common for Toyota/Lexus in Europe - GS430, GS450h, RAV4, Avensis, IS300h etc. all use it.
  2. This was commented on the other day about the UX. Seems Lexus are going for a single document rather than both price list and brochure. What you end up with is a dumbed down brochure or an extended price list depending on your point of view.
  3. If you don't need 100% range then stay away from charging to 100%, especially letting the vehicle sit at 100% state of charge - Lithium batteries don't like it. It isn't going to massively affect the battery, not enough to qualify for a battery replacement, but it will accelerate battery ageing which will slowly reduce maximum range. There is quite a lot of research that suggests not going above 60% to minimise calendar ageing, but that isn't practical or convenient for the vast majority of EV owners.
  4. It's a series III thing, not on the series IV as they have sport / sport+ instead (both 300h and 450h).
  5. I assume you mean Amps not volts? Unless you are noticing the engine turning over slower than in the past when starting I wouldn't change it, especially now as we are getting warmer weather with less strain on the starting system. Then consider changing in the Autumn if you are concerned about it letting you down. How old is the current battery?
  6. Over 4 to 1 these days with just 2 models available, and growing every quarter. You are correct, Lexus won't make any dent in Tesla sales - but at the moment it doesn't really matter as all EVs are constrained by manufacturing - they could all sell more. What is relevant to Lexus is they need to have EV options available before the world moves on and their hybrid sales drop without EVs available to take their place. They will either continue to be a niche player, or an extinct one.
  7. Way to misquote. The reply was in relation to Lexus' top grade leather which is semi-aniline (Lexus don't use aniline leather). The IS300h never had semi-aniline leather seats.
  8. Too expensive, and needs more care, for the average IS owner to accept. Semi-aniline leather is in the higher end vehicles, not just the grade - RX, LS, LC and GS (when it was available). The IS300h has never had it. Leather, being a natural product, will have some variance, especially year to year as it may well come from different suppliers. Are you sure it isn't just the seat itself that is harder which makes you think it is a difference in the leather?
  9. The AWD Toyota bZ4X is £ 50k which is less powerful due to using a smaller motor. I therefore cannot see the Lexus starting below £ 55k but wouldn't be surprised if it starts at £ 60k. Hopefully they will be realistic this time and not have to do an embarrassing price drop after just a few months as they did with the UX300e. Tesla never launched the $ 35k spec M3 in the UK. Equivalent spec M3s are priced about the same, once you factor in VAT vs sales tax differences.
  10. The complete exhaust is excluded from the Relax warranty anyway.
  11. IS-F factory spec is DOT 3 RC F / GS F is DOT 3 or DOT 4
  12. No, Lexus expects only a drop of up to 10% after 10 years, but they aren't putting their warranty around those figures. They will provide a 10 year warranty but only at 70% capacity, not 90%.
  13. An unfortunate situation but better to have it resolved now, one way or the other, rather than only finding out at the start of year two of ownership.
  14. Back in the day the official supercharger kit was the way to go but those are all but impossible to find now. The engine isn't that tuneable, better off with a Altezza RS200 and 3S-GE / 3S-GTE engine or an IS300. Read/search through this sub-forum: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/119-supercharging-amp-turbo-modifications/
  15. I believe both the manifold (with the primary cat) and the front section of the exhaust (with the secondary cat) are both around that price. You are extremely unlikely to get the primary cat stolen as you cannot get to the front of it to cut it away as it is deep within the engine bay with very little room around it.
  16. I'd check the terms to make sure there isn't a get out clause for them - not sure how they can guarantee road tax costs when it is outside of their control, unless they are intending to take on the risk and therefore refund you any additional expenses you will incur over the next 6 years (which I highly doubt). Maybe they are just talking about the first year VED? I suggest speaking to your dealer to find out what you exposure is and alter/cancel your order if you aren't prepared to take on the extra expense.
  17. It's just Lexus website inconsistency. Whilst it states there is a brochure for the NX and ES, when you click on them they are labelled as price lists and appear in exactly the same format as the UX250h price list. Seems they are moving to a single document, rather than separate price list and brochure, but they haven't got through all the models yet. There is definitely a face-lift model coming later this year but Lexus don't like to announce this too early as it would kill existing sales, so they will keep the existing brochure/price list around for a couple more months.
  18. Check the bulbs are the correct ones and from quality brand, they are seated correct and your low beam is in fact properly adjusted. My above quote is from the official repair manual - there is no separate adjustment for high and low beams, just for the whole light assembly.
  19. Yes that is possible but it is quite common on the IS250 for this to be a leak in the exhaust, especially at the age these vehicles are now at.
  20. 7 litres is way too much. It should only need 6.3 litres. If you cannot get an accurate reading from the dip stick then get some clear silicone tubing. Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PNRCZXX Lay it out against the dipstick and with a permanent pen mark the low and high points as well as the top of the dipstick where it stops against the tube. Then insert into the tube until you reach the top mark, finger over the hole, withdraw and you will clearly see the true level.
  21. No, the price list is effectively the full brochure for the UX250h.
  22. Yes that is all there is. The headlight is a complete unit so if one beam is set correct the other one is too (if the correct bulbs are installed).
  23. Not sure if normal, but my wife's UX does the same.
  24. Try cleaning/lubricating the top hinges to reduce the effort needed (a bit of WD40 and open/close the boot manually a few times). Not sure if it is possible to lubricate the power struts themselves as I think they are covered/sealed. Would this not be covered under Lexus Relax warranty? The tailgate struts are explicitly stated as being covered so your dealer should fix FOC. If it turns out you aren't covered under warranty then purchase aftermarket struts, don't give Lexus £2k. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003494723407.html
  25. The issue with air suspension is it is expensive to repair, and at 10+ years old they can start to get unreliable. However if the ability to lower the vehicle to get in/out is of benefit then you may not want to dismiss the SE-L or SE-L Premier.
