  1. The positive though Barry, is that if you are planning on keeping the car for a while, then at least you have the reassurance the air struts are in a good place.
  2. Thank you, do you have the links?
  3. Congrats. I’m on the lookout for a similar age RX450H, good to hear all went well with you and the purchasing process.
  4. Great post and reaffirms that some leather interiors just aren’t looked after. Yours does look good and that’s what I’d expect. Just got it into my head that Lexus may have switched to lower quality leather lol! Likewise I’ve had a couple of RX300’s in the past and went SE over the SE-L, just to avoid any potential additional expense should the air sus fail.
  5. Good info again and thanks. I appreciate leather can be bought back to a good standard, but the state of the leather in that pic could indicate poor care of the car in general, so would put me off. That’s partly why I was asking if different types of leather interior could be specified. I’ve requested to join the group, so will be good to get more info that way. Appreciate the heads up.
  6. This is from a 2010 SE-I, I know it’s a light colour, but it’s the passenger seat and it looks quite worn. Is this the norm or just a poorly looked after example. Think this car has circa 100k miles, so average for a 10-11 yr old car.
  7. The good thing is that a ML system won’t be a deal breaker
  8. Thanks for that. Agree reference powder coating diamond cut alloys, not a bad thing given how easily the diamond cut finish can deteriorate.
  9. Looking at cars from 2009-12, so SE-I, SE-L and Advance spec. The odd premier spec pops up in the age/price categories I’ve been looking at. Thanks for your input.
  10. Thanks Ken, info appreciated. Are there different specs of leather? The reason I ask is because on some of the lighter colour leather then the condition varies. I know on lighter leather it is more likely to show dirt and wear more, but were there options for different types? I know that on the 2012 model up the seat design / leather changed, was this for the better or no real difference?
  11. Hi All, I’m planning to view an RX450H over the next couple of weeks. I’ve owned a couple of RX300’s so whilst I appreciate that’s a different generation, are there any similar and additional issues to watch out for when inspecting / viewing an RX450H. For example water ingress, suspension corrosion, etc. I am aware of the tailgate issue, but are there any other watch outs please? Cheers Jules
  12. Main requirement is condition. So good evidence of how it’s been looked after / serviced. Colour wise I’m not massively fussed but quite like white. However, the last two RX’s I’ve had have been silver and was more than happy. Interior - I quite like the ivory (think it’s ivory), as long as it’s been well looked after, as some look very worn in this colour. The interior colour isn’t a deal breaker though. Spec - ideally an Advance, but happy with an SE-I. An SE-L is ok but prefer not to worry about the air suspension, but wouldn’t rule it out. Mileage - Preference is under 125k. Price - up to £12k, but may go higher for the right car.
  13. It’s Worth starting a separate thread instead of posting on this one?
  14. Hi Dave, Good to hear you are well (important to stay that way), and that the Scoop is living a pampered life, I expected nothing less and it’s still a car I keep looking at. I’ll send you a pm to pick your brains about the RX450h as I’m likely to buy one in the next month or so👍🏼 Jules
  15. Hi Dave, hope you are well and keeping fit and active. I Forgot you had a Lexus. I don’t visit the MB Forum as much nowadays since selling the CLS63. How is the S Coupe? I miss my CLS, but the Tesla has been fine. Be good to catch up.... Jules

  17. Hi All, Hope you are well. Having owned a couple of excellent RX300’s in the past, I am considering buying an RX450h. It’ll be the model from 2009-2012 and must have been well looked after. If you are thinking of selling or know someone who may be, then let me know. Thanks Jules.
  18. Enjoy. They’ll do late 20’s on a run
  19. Thanks. It’s up for sale so my RX300 will stay with me at least until the new one arrives
  20. Haha! Better than that, it’s the 5.5 biturbo.
  21. I bought a 2004 RX300 in November. Have to say it’s been great. You can check the MOT history on line as will give a guide to any potential issues that may / may not need addressing. I last owned an RX between 2007-10 and the only difference bar inevitable ageing, are a couple of squeaks in the interior (can be fixed). The car still looks great, drives well and even the kids give it their seal of approval despite our other car being a 900bhp Mercedes! Hope it works our well.
  22. I used the same person on EBay and had x2 keys sent. All done in 48 hours so these key I use daily now has a solid casing. I just sent him a pic of my key so he cut send the correct one. Jules
  23. Put x2 new Avon’s on my RX300 in Nov after identifying the previous tyres needed replacing when buying the car. Been great so far. When I had my first RX300 back in 2008 I think I fitted General Grabber tyres, which to be honest were fine also.
