  1. Yes i had a Thinkware U1000 fitted, not the cheapest on the market but a great bit of kit, very good quality recording.
  2. Yes i use Climate Concierge all the time, in fact i rarely touch anything, just set it at 21 and let it do its thing. Are you going to keep both LC's? Have you thought about any security for both of your LC's,?. I would recommend the Autowatch Ghost - ii system, around £400 fitted , its also Insurance approved Also what about a ceramic coating ?. the paint is very soft and prone to stone chips, although ceramic coating won't complete stop the chance of stone chips but it could help depending on how much motorway driving you intend to do.
  3. Hi Kevin I thought the review in general was a fair one, The only thing i completely disagree with, and this is with every review I have seen, is there opinion on the infotainment system, yes it does take a bit of getting use to, but here is the problem, they have the car for a couple of days and don't get the opportunity to really get used to it. The heated seats for example, if you have the heated seat/steering wheel setting on the right hand side of you screen, all you do is move the curser onto the seat or steering wheel icon and click, you don't have to search through loads of menu screens as they say. Most owners agree it's a bit of a nighnmare to start with, but then so would be from changing from a android phone to a Apple, until you had it a week or so.
  4. Hi Kevin Yes the ride did seem a bit softer, but i think they have changed the suspension set up from the 2018 model, I drove a 2020 model and that also seemed to be softer, about the same as the convertible.
  5. Hi Keven I know its sounds a bit confusing, and although my county is Kent, my area comes under a London borough so we will thankfully be in tier 2 I test drove the convertible last week, same colour combination as mine , very nice, slightly noisier inside the cabin with the top up, i did have the top down for a few miles just to get the feel I have never owned a convertible, and it has never really appealed to me. my reasons are The weather in the UK would probable only allow me to drive with the top down for 20% of its life. and i would consider the South, East / West of the country to be the warmer parts of the country, and if its to hot then i would have the roof up and the air con on. security, concerns about the soft top, damage ect. ( probably less so in the part of the country you live in ) Keeping the interior clean, driving around in the warmer, dryer and DUSTY conditions, again probably less so in the part of the country you live i. Due to the rearaty of soft top cars in general and even more so a Lexus would i have problems when it comes to selling it. which is why i always buy the top of the range with all the possible extras. Having said all this i really think that the LC in convertible form looks stunning, even more so with the top down but just not for me I hope you enjoy it when it arrives, and very much looking forward to the photos And best wishes to your wife Chris
  6. I was offered the same deal when i was at the dealership last week having my alloy repaired. The convertible is not for me due to the low millage I do and my unsociable working hours.
  7. Yes MM19 is a update, but you have to pay for the Apple Car Play part of the update unless you have a nice dealership. can take up to 5 hours to do ( with the engine running ) if you're only running at MM17 part 1, there is a part 2 & 3, them MM19 and then the Apple Car Play part. I am not sure if my 17 plate car can take the Apple Car Play part, to be honest i am not really interested in it
  8. 5 Hours WOW, you better take a spare fuel can with you. lol. I find the Speech Command System works quite well, i mainly use it for the telephone, but recently put in a address that worked better than i expected, i believe it takes a while to learn your voice, and i think i found somewhere, deep in the menu system a voice training section ( or perhaps i was dreaming ). Chris
  9. Yes you get 2 years Breakdown cover, which would be worth £100 per year, but then you get that with all the Lexus warranties. I managed to get full AA breakdown cover for £50 this year as the AA came out as the cheapest car insurance and they were doing a deal.
  10. I have had a big discussion with Lexus about the warranty for the LC, its been taken right to the top but they are not going to move on the £2350 for 2 years. i too cant understand why its so high when the RC-F is £995 for two years, along with the engine a lot of other warranted parts are the same. So i have just put £100 extra in to my car tax/insurance/service pot and keeping my fingers crossed,
  11. Yes looks like you need a update, may be worth waiting until version 19 comes out, i believe it to be around the end of the month. also be prepared for them to have the car for a couple of hours, and a full tank of fuel, as i said my update took 2 hours with the engine running
  12. Hi Kevin Sorry Kevin but i am not very tech savvy, so not 100% sure on that, but my gut tells me, No it doesn't automatically download to your car, the reason i say that is... My update took just over 2 hours and the car had to be left running while this was done, i assume because the ignition needs to be on and if the engine is not running the ignition will automatically turn its self off after a short time I am not sure what downloads i had done, i know they did a software download no 17 ( 19 is due out soon ) i don't know if map updates are free with a service while the car is in warranty, but i was not charged anything for whatever update they did. My map now shows me the name of the road i am traveling on at the bottom of the screen which i am sure is wasn't before, plus i have a new speed camera icon on the bottom right of the screen ( see photo below ) which if you click on it you can add a new or temporary speed camera which defiantly was not there before, now i don't know if this was added with a new map update or a systems update. i asked about a update next service ( car will be out of warranty ) and was told that there would be a cost involved as they need to put in a pin number which would be supplied with the update pack which you have to pay for, now again i don't know if this was for a map update or a system update, i certainly would not be happy to pay for a system update as these are normally done because of some issue with the systems running software. the same as you don't pay for a software update on your iPhone, so we will see when the time comes.
  13. Hi Kevin, its the first time i have caught the wheel in 3 years so not bad going, enjoy the car i am sure you will. give us some feed back in a few weeks
  14. yes i assume so, the wheel was clean when i took it there so its hard to tell but i am happy with the result, haven't had the invoice yet but £55 was mentioned, so if that's the case i will be happier still.
  15. Just had the wheel repaired by my local dealership, it was done in house by there mobile wheel repair guy, not sure how it was done but i am happy with the result. before and after photo's
  16. no not by just looking at it, if you sign into your Lexus link app it will show you all the work / services done on the car
  17. personally i don't think lubricant will help, nothing is sticking, its just the spring which is not strong enough, which has been mentioned is what back in the mechanism, i don't understand why owners of a 90k car are sticking pieces of rubber in the flap to make it work propley when there there is a free fix
  18. As mentioned HUD and ML is a option, although i think most of the initial LC's brought into the country were for the dealership demonstraters so full spect out, sport+ models which is why you don't see many basic models for sale fuel cap has been done, haven't had a problem since. fuel pump does not need doing on a 2017 year, seems odd as you would have thought that the very first models would have needed to be done so what changed from 2018 i don't know. latest software is number 17. i did have a slight problem with the screen freezing but this update has seemed to have solved that. update number 19 will be out by the end if the month,
  19. the company i was looking ay ( Alloy wheel refuiqment NK ) told me they take around 7 working days and costs approx £600 plus vat per wheel. To proces then with our processes takes 2 to 3 days and costs £150 plus vat it would be interesting which process they used on your wheel hopefully mine will be repaired at the dealership soon, i will post before and after photos.
  20. I haven't had any re call letter and according to the Lexus website there is not any re calls for my car. mine is a 2017 year and i have noticed everyone else seems to be 2018 or newer.
  21. I don't no what it is about Lexus Alloy's they have always been very poor quality conspired with the rest of the car, they will however replace or repair is they corrode within the 3 year warranty period as long as any damage to the wheel is immediately repaired, the last 3 cars i have had the alloy's removed from the car and treated front and back and so far i haven't had any problems with them although i do make sure they are cleaned regally with brake dust fallout remover.
  22. Thanks Kevin, for some reason i can't open the link to TRS UK, not from here or even Google. i am going to contact my dealership next week and see if they can sort it out for me, it means them sending the wheel of and having the car but i don't fancy having my car on the drive on a jack or axel stands, in fact i don't even now if there is a jack
  23. Will do Stuart, I have had this reply from a company in Coventry, it’s just getting the wheel to them Hi Chris. Many thanks for your enquiry. Yes we do these all the time but we have our own process. These wheels are ball bearing polished and quite difficult and time consuming to do. We have our own process to repair these wheels and from a metre aways cannot tell the difference. To process them as they are takes around 7 working days and costs approx £600 plus vat per wheel. To proces then with our processes takes 2 to 3 days and costs £150 plus vat. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.. thanks in advance. Regards The AWRUK Team
  24. Thanks Nigel, that will be interesting, have you just left you car with them or did they sort you out a replacement wheel while you is off for repair? have they given you any idea of the cost to fit it.
  25. Yes Milton Keynes is the only place in the country with the correct equipment to do the job 100% ,
