  1. It’s the preparation that it’s the part that takes the longest ,for £350 there will be very little prep if any at all. Just A good quality coating would set you back at least £120, if your car is 5 years old and has never had a coating then you wii probably need a stage 1&2 polish, (£1200 ish )to get it to a high standard, Cristal Serum Ultra is one of the best and probably the hardest, can only be applied by a registered detailer
  2. I have been very fortunate so far in not getting any stone chips, hopefully this will continue ( touch wood ) I have only done around 300 miles on a motorway which is were I consider you are more likely to get them, I also make sure I give a good distance from me and the vehicle in front especially lorries, giving them a wide birth and getting past them as quickly as possible ( any excuse for a bit of V8 noise )
  3. My LC was first detailed from new back in September 2017 As I have decided to keep the car for a few more years I decided to treat it to a re coating. I had Cristal Serum Ultra with two coats of Exov4 on top. Wheels were also remover and coated front and back. The Work was carried out by Marvin at WOW Factors in Orpington at a total cost of £1100 As you can see by the photos the car looks amazing.
  4. I personally don't use Halfords much for products, I use my Detailers shop which is normally cheaper plus as a good customer i get 10% discount, saying that so far anything i have purchased from Halfords has had the 15% deducted even of offer prices but before VAT.
  5. Yes you need a card as they will scan it, also you can't use the card as well as vouchers or pre loaded card, its either one or the other.
  6. I would be interested to know what they did in just 2 hours as the recall repair is a all day job. I just hope they didn't just lube it other wise your be back in a couple of months.
  7. or in the cold weather ( unless you use proper screen wash )the contents have frozen and split the bottle?
  8. The only few things i would try is 1.... move the seat all the way forwards and backwards as far as it will go a couple of times. 2.... Take it back to Lexus if its still under warranty or as last resort disconnect the battery for 10 mins
  9. Agree with everything that has been said, A Great car and very good built quality, I have had a few problems with mine but that's was sort of expected when it was one of the first to arrive in the UK, after the dealerships demos. Saying that everything has been sorted out by the dealership who continue to look after me even though the warranty has expired. plus in just over 3 years i still haven't seen another one on the road, so very exclusive.
  10. I had my car updated last week.
  11. I think the one you are looking for is the "Inspiration Series" which i believe was limited to 500,
  12. Take it back to Lexus, they will replace the cap free under the warranty, they will need the car all day as it is a long job
  13. Hi Malcolm, The screen goes blank and the word "SEARCHING......", comes up on the screen the same as when you first start up the car, the same as if you push down on the volume control knob for 10 seconds, this resets the system, but mine randomly does this. They have told me that the MM19 update should solve this problem Yes agree with the scaling, mine does the same, but on this occasion it also changed the mode to 3D which put the blue strip across the top of the screen which gave me concern as i had never seen this before.
  14. Yes your right Mark, the thing is that i have ever changed my view so didn't know that a blue strip is shown when its put into 3D mode, so when it just appeared i got concerned. I have had problem with the screen just going into searching mode every now and then, sometime it come straight back on other times it just stays in searching mode for my hole trip home ( 15 mins ). i have just had the latest update done, MM19, and this update is to cure this problem so i will see
  15. well that was embarrassing. lol. Steve you were right, i have had a fiddle and its gone, not sure what mode it was in, i don't normally touch anything once i have it how i want it
  16. i will have a look Steve, i don't think I have touched anything perhaps its in Summer mode, makes the sky look blue.lol.
  17. I was assuming that the display work's in sections, or in the case of a tv, pixels, and that the top section is faulty, but as you say hopefully its a easy fix or Lexus indeed take into consideration the age and millage of the car, ill keep you posted
  18. This error has just come up on my sat nav screen , a blue strip across the top of the screen. its booked in for Friday, they are going to do the latest update to MM19, and reset the screen neither of witch i think will solve the problem. i think it will need a new screen, the problem is the car is out of warranty, i didn't extend the warranty as the car only travels around 2,500 miles a year, it will be interesting to see what they say.
  19. The leather can be re sprayed back to black, I had a 450h a few years back with cream interior which i had done. , i am not sure what part of Kent you live in but i have the number of the guy that did mine, he did a good job, although this was a few years back so not sure if he is still around, if you would like his number PM me.
  20. The Lexus official website show the warranty cost for all models
  21. £1095 for 2 years warrantee.
  22. you may need a software update
  23. Clarkson and Co has never had anything good to say about Lexus car's, except for the LFA, and i am sure he did that through gritted teeth. Funny though how Quinton Willson was the person he always used to call for help every time his beloved Ford F40 broke down, and what did Quinton drive, O yes a Lexus.
  24. I had the same problem with the RC-F, I find the door sill very high, and with the large seat side bolsters it was slightly hard to get out even with the seat adjusted as high as it would go without my head hitting the head lining. i had my number 3 seat button set for the seat to go back as far as it would go, i found that helped a bit. Funny enough even though the LC is a slightly lower car i find it easer to get out than the RC-F, the door sill is much lower and the side seat bolsters are not so big.
