The New Lexus Rcf.
wendle replied to Calders's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
The RC-F has the same engine as the IS-F but only 2 doors the GS-F coming out next year also has the same engine so Lexus still make a sports car -
sorry Stu i am away on the 15th Feb and working on the 15th March ( mother's day)

The New Lexus Rcf.

The RC-F has been limited to 5 per dealership in 2015, except Lexus Edgware road that have 10 ( I believe they have pre sold 14). I suppose its like everything else, supply and demand, the LFA was £350k new, one sold the other week for £500k. On the other hand I don’t think the RC-F will sell much more than the IS-F and I believe they only sold around 250 of then in the UK in 7 years, and the RC-F is really only a two seater so it may sell less. -
Hi Carl I can only answer your last question 4 Yes that is normal, you cant rev the engine, you may have a slight increase in revs if you put your foot to the floor, you will also get a message come up on the small screen in front of you saying that while the car is in natural the hybrid system is not charging and you should put it in park, Not sure if the 2007 model had the valve spring re- call, you could check, other than that I would keep an eye on your oil level.

Hi Brian Sorry cant answer your question , but you could perhaps try a breakers yard, or some one breaking a car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-GS430-4-3L-V8-PETROL-2005-2009-EXHAUST-CATALYTIC-CONVERTERS-CAT-LAMBDA-/181622667033?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a498df719 ok had a couple of minutes to spare and i know this is not a good example and i don't expect you would go with one from this country

my concern would be does it chip or scratch easily and if so how would repair it.

Lexus UK have already had a delivery but as all the cars ordered by dealerships have not yet arrived they are not going to release then until the 20th February.

I agree with every thing you have said about the RC-F., and by the way you can get 2 sets of golf clubs in the RC-F. lol. I have nothing against any other car manufacturer, I have never driven a BMW, Audi, Mercedes, or jaguar, I should really, just to compare, but I am happy with Lexus. I was lucky enough to spend the day at the Ascari race track with the RC-F, I was driven round by Alexandra wurz, mostly sideways, and spent time driving it around myself, ( not sideways ). The new Mark Levinson system sounds good enough for what I need, and the type of music I listen to. At 53 years old my racing days are well gone. I am not interested in 1\4 mile or 0-60 times. the car will spend most of its time in “eco mode”, will probably not go over 80mph, and travel 3500 miles a year, so what the hell are you buying a RC-F for I hear you shouting at your computer screen. Answer, because I like the look of it, and really is it, I should wait for the RC300h witch is really more me, but ha ho you only live once. The only thing I would say about the reviews is that I haven’t really seen one which concentrates on what I would call normal driving on normal roads, they all seam to be throwing it round a track. Feed back from the US have said that it is a pleasant and comfortable drive compared to the M4, but then I have not driven a M4 It will be interesting to hear your thoughts once you have driven a RC-F, but I don’t think your be to impressed compared to your M4.

The RC-F is going to be very limited in the UK, its taken 7 years to get around 200 IS-F,s in the UK, and that’s a fairly practical family car, with 4 doors, were the RC-F is really only a 2+2, ok for someone like me or as a second car. The GS-F would probably be a more practical family car but I have a feeling its going to be much more expensive than the RC-F. my guess close to £70k. So with only 200 IS-F’s in the UK and only 7/8 members on this site your not going to get to much enthusiasm for the RC-F only me talking to myself. Lol.

Hi Peter, finding your way around the car is the fun part, not sure if the 2010 model has full post code entry, if it has then its just menu button from the sat nav screen, destination, select page two, enter full post code, done. If it hasn’t got full post code entry, then have fun.

thats really funny, you also must have been up at 08.25 on the 4th of December to buy that plate, it was 3rd on my list to buy. i was lucky and after 2 hours of trying to get the D.V.L.A web page to load i managed to get my first choice, CR15 RCF, just waiting on delivery of the car now

fill out the Nominee details on your certificate, section 2, make a cheque payable to D.V.L.A Swansea for £25, and send it to D.V.L.A personalised registrations, Swansea, SA99 1DS, a new certififcate will be sent to the new Nominee which they can then assign to there car.

I think both Steve and Neimo have hit the nail on the head, personally I would have gone to Lexus and found out the correct price to fit the part rather than an estimate from the parts department, then you would have had a true difference in total cost between Lexus and your mechanic, I have found you can always barter with lexus on labour costs, for example I have never paid what they have quoted for a service. Good luck with the outcome

This happened to my years ago when I backed out of a parking space and caught my bumper on another car, it only put a couple of small scratches on his bumper, and he agreed to have a smart repair done, I paid the smart repair company direct and wrote a statement on the receipt for him to sign saying that he was happy with the repair. I didn’t contact my insurance company and herd nothing more about it.

I personally would not put my car anywhere near a automatic car wash, give your wheels a good clean, there are various products around to clean and then protect your alloys, then 5 minuets with a bucket of warm water and a sponge, job done. -
Got the numberplate now all i need is the car. CR15 RCF
