  1. I drove the GS-F a couple of weeks ago, the seats are the same as the RC-F, and as the RC-F is based on the same front end as the GS-F the interior cabin space seamed the same, the main difference was the larger sat nav screen. I also felt that the ride was softer than the RC-F, however this may have just been the type of roads I was driving on, it’s a nice car but I don’t need 4 doors so the 10k price difference would not appeal to me, also in my opinion the styling is quite bland on the GS-F , this was quite noticeable when the two cars were parked next to each other.
  2. i am working that day but won't know my hours until 3 days before,
  3. i have found that the rain sensitive wipers technology has improved over the years, years back i found that even on its most sensitive setting it did not clear the windscreen frequently enough for me, but the latest car works perfectly. perhaps try give the windscreen a really good clean, even claying it,
  4. i had a rattle in the drivers door pillar on my GS 450h, it was the seat belt mechanism, they took it apart and did something with it
  5. i am surprised they didn't put the 3.5 ltr V6 engine from the GS 450h in it.
  6. the plates look great, but i feel you may have some police interest, not only the spacing but i believe that all plates must now show a post code of either the dealership of were the car was purchased from or the company who produced the plates.
  7. This is for all you ISF owners who would like a bit more speed.
  8. Hi James, and welcome to the club, not sure why then if they are not selling very well why does James have to wait for a July delivery, did they not have the colour/ spefications you wanted in stock, i haven't driven the 300h yet but will have a go when mine goes in for its service next week
  9. my last car was a MK4, GS450h f sport, so yes very quiet.
  10. yes mine looks the same, i suppose its only rubber so theres not much that can be done to stop that, keeping the rubber clean and supple should stop any wind noise, the next time i am on the motorway ill turn the radio off and have a good listen.
  11. Hi, I wouldn’t say I have noticed any more outside noise in this car that any other I have been in, the windows seem to fit quite tightly. As for the gaps, I have attached two photos, they don’t show it very well but the window drops around 5mm when the doors are opened and go back up again when the doors are closed, there is a slot in the rubber which the window goes into so you cant get a credit card in there, the other photo shows the side of the window, there is no slot in the rubber, it is quite think rubber and a bit squidgy and the window just seals up against it, its quite a tight fit but with force you can get a credit card through. I have jet washed the car a few time and have not noticed any water getting into the car. Perhaps in a few years time when the rubber starts to wear the story may be different, although it would just mean replacing the door and side rubbers. I hope this helps,
  12. not sure if the RC 200t, RC 300h and the RC-F are built on the same platform, if they are then i probably can answer your question
  13. I think its all down to overheads, although all the Lexus dealerships I have been to all look smart the one in Guildford is on a industrial estate and the one in Sidcup in I a prime location, I would think there would be a major overhead difference,
  14. I think your find there are only 150 RC-F's in the country, and the RC 300h has been limited to 13 per dealership Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. I don't no why the UK shouldn't get the LC 500 as it will either have the same engine as the RCF or the hybrid which I would expect to have less CO2 than the V8
  16. By the time you take the VAT off I don't think it has dropped in price any more than any other car I have owned, I used to get new fords at 27% off, keep them a year and sell them for the same price as I purchased them for
  17. Intermediate service is £296 so that sounds about right for a full service, the 60k service would be nearer £800 depending on the car Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. A lot of US and Canadian owners complain about the seats not getting very hot but i think its more to do with the fact that its probably a serious minus degrees there and they are wearing big overcoats and can't feel the heated seats, i found the GS seats got nice and hot, unlike the RC-F that are useless, so unless you are wearing lots of thick clothes while driving i would say you have a element problem.
  19. Dealership has just got back to me with a cost for the first service of £250 inc VAT, parts and labour. or £1000 for a 3 service package, i am assuming that the minor service is every other odd year and a major service is every other even year, until you get to the 6th year when you have to re mortgage your house. service 1 = £250 2= £ ? 3= £250 so depending how much the 2nd major service is going to be and how much servicing will increase in the next 2 years will depend on weather a £1000 for a 3 year service is good value or not, i think it will be pretty close. £833 for 3 years is a good deal
  20. The way cars are built these days 3 years for a M.O.T does seem a bit to soon, i took my 3 year old GS450h for its M.O.T last year, the guy just looked at it, scratched his head, looked under the car and blew the horn, and that was about it, didn't even put those pipes up the exhaust, i suppose they can't as its a hybrid. the car had only done 10k miles, i suppose a car with much higher millage may need a M.O.T after 3 years, perhaps they could do it after 4 years or so many miles. i popped into my local dealership yesterday to discus my first years service, he told me of a guy who got his RC-F two weeks before me and has just had his third service with 32k on the clock, apparently drives all round Europe for work so i suppose he would need a M.O.T after 3 years.
  21. Hi Richard, unfortunatly i don't know anything about the RX450h either although my last car was the GS450h, you should be able the to have the headlights on without leaving them in Auto, have a closer look i think it has Off, running lights, head lights on, and Auto. As for the fuel economy there is a technique on how to drive hybrids, i think its somewhere on the Lexus website, fairly quickly build up you speed, up to a max speed of 40 mph remove you foot from the gas peddle and immediately gently re apply. on a flatish road you should be able to keep the car at speeds up to 40 mph only using the batteries.
  22. do the M.O.T,S last forever, as your not going to use them for 3 years, i have just asked for a quote for my first service, so it will be interesting to see what they come back with and if it does make it cheeper buying a service package.
  23. Air con is electric the heating will work without the engine running as long as the engine is hot, if for example you sit in a traffic jam for a long time and the engine starts to cool down the engine will start up. every thing is electric, including the servo brakes which in most cars will not work if the engine is not running,
  24. As there are only around 90 RC-F 's in private hands i think it will be very unlikely you find the exact one your looking for, if any for sale at all. the rest are at main dealerships, i no Sidcup have a black one, ask to speak to Bradley, tell him i sent you he will give you the best deal he can. if you would like i can get any information you require, i am not far away so i can also take any photos you may want or just have a general look around it,
