I am in exactly the same situation as you, my Service and MOT is in September. i also need 4 new tyres, i have only done 11500 miles but being 7 years old the tyres are starting to crack within the tread, I have the same tyres as you. i could possibly get away with it this year but i dont see the point as i would defiantly need them next year and i won't be keeping the car long enough to need tyres again. I personally am going to stick to the same tyres, my concern is that if you choose a different make and it is not as good as the ones you have you are stuck with them. what we really need is half a dozen LC's with different makes of tyres on that we can drive to compare. my opinion is better the devlel you know, i also dont want the hassle of having a can of tyre foam stuff in the boot which i believe ruins the tyre is you use it, only lasts a year and cost quite a bit to replace.

yes they got the car open and were inside the car, but it wouldn't start because of the Ghost. No wiring damage, they just unplugged the plug behind the headlight. they pulled back the bumper which cracked, so it needed a new bumper and re calibration of the sensors behind the bumper i didn't have any warning signs, as at the time of fitting my Ghost they did not do them, i have now got a sticker of e bay which i have put on the windscreen no steering lock No it has not put me off the LC, its a amazing car and it will be sad when it has to go
-
Mine had a attempted theft, the Ghost stopped them from taking it, caused £4k of damage Some added protection, will hopefully deter a attempted theft again
-
They may well have a Thatcham category 1 fitted but that hasn't stopped them from being stolen, so i dont really see the point in them

CANBUS remedial work with main dealers.
wendle replied to IronLizard's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
The problem is that it won't stop them doing nearly 4K worth of damage trying to steel it. Thy pull back the bumper on the LC as there is not enough room to get in through the wheel arch. -
lol, i thought it sounded a bit rough

Mine is 6.5 years old and 11K miles, i am still running it in, do you think i can use 3 gear now or should i wait another few more miles.

Potential LC500 Owner after a little advice
wendle replied to Dingle Dell's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
If your looking for a fast and engaging car then dont buy a LC, as you have said its a GT not a sports car that weighs close to two tons the only difference between the LC and the Giulia QV is that your loose your licence 1.2 seconds quicker 😀 -
You really need someone on the Lexus owners club to want one, then it should go smoothly, I sold my RC-F to a member and every went fine.
-
that doesn't seem a bad drop for a 6 years old car, just under 50%, i have cars that have only been 3 years old and have lost 50%, i know that's what they are up for, how much they sell for may be a different matter.
-
Have you looked at the Lexus web site and auto traded to see what they are up for, that may give you some idea
-
I partly feel the same Brett, but i love the car, and why should i sell it for that reason. plus if i changed model i would probably be in the same situation.
-
The Ghost immobiliser with stop the theft but not the 4K's worth of damage caused, but then i suppose this would be the same for all cars

Goodbye NX450h+ ....Hello NX450h+

I suggest you fit runlets on your new NX, this will mean you won't have the urge to visit your dealership again, 😭 -
End of new LC and RC-F availability in Europe ?
wendle replied to rsdave's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
so your getting the last LC500 to arrive in the UK , and I have the first LC 500 to arrive in the UK, ( for customer use ) its a small world. -
A minor service is £415 A major service is £770 Total for the 2 years is £1185 ( 10% discount £1066 ) ( 15% discount £1007 ) As a member of the LOC you should get a 10% discount or even 15% if your also a good customer It is possibly that service costs could rise each year, something to consider.
-
The way i look at it is that if you dont have the sticker on then they are going to attempt to steel it, ( damage to your car )if it does have the sticker on it may stop them from attempting to steel it. ( no damage to your car ) i dont think it would be easy to find, its only as big as a stick of chewing gum and can be fitted Anywhere within the wiring loom, under the bonnet, within the passenger compartment or even the boot, that's a lot of places to look

Air tags are ok as long as you have people walking past the car who own a iphone if the car is left in a garage or in a area with little on no foot fall then it won't really work. admittedly as some point the car will have to be moved.

Does the service plan include 2 MOT's
-
Unfortunately they dont need your keys or have to scan for a signal from your keys in your house they just pull back the wheel arch cover or pull back the bumper, connect there device and drive it away. the only way your going to stop them taking it would be to fit a Ghost or similar or a well hidden cut out switch. as for them trying to steel it and causing damage to your car, i dont really know, a deterrent may help, but profenanals will get round anything you fit

Potential LC500 Owner after a little advice
wendle replied to Dingle Dell's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Looks like the previous owner has opted for the 20' wheels which i believe come from the base model LC, rather than the 21' wheels that are standard on the sport model, probably for a more comfortable ride, or they just didn't like the 21' wheel design. -
Your safe Marcus, they used to charge more, they don't now its just the normal Major service cost although they will probably try to sell you some add ons, fuel adaptive, ect.
-
Yes i think you are right, i am sure they had a extra higher cost for the 6 year / 60.000miles service for plugs i think they have just spread the cost between all the minor and major services.

Fuel filler cap sticking - emergency release
wendle replied to EddieCD's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Perhaps you can both get together on this, as i have said it is a issue with the LC, in the US and here, it should be covered by a re call but Lexus don't seem to treat there European customers the same as the US, -
Question please regarding factory fix for fuel cap issue
wendle replied to Chammers's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Its a big job, there will probably need your car for the best part of a day to fix it unless the repair job is different than mine was, it involved removing the back seat and panelling in the boot. mine still sometimes sticks, i always clean the inside of my filler cap when cleaning the car and now have got into a routine of spraying some WD40 silicone spray and wiggling it back words and forwards a few time, since doing this i haven't had any problems,
