Allan, could I pay you to fit to my dads car? pM me to discuss. Cheers
-
My dad has a Sc430 that has now covered 14k from new. It's an early car and a few years ago I paid a reputable specialist to fit rear parking sensors. It's a poor effort really although it looks like a factory install. My daily is an old Nissan Primera which has a particularly useful reversing camera fitted.
I wondered if anyone here has successfully fitted a reversing camera to a Sc430 that uses the colour sat nav screen. How easy was it to fit and exactly what do I need to buy. Costing would be useful as well.
I passed my dad the solid gold tips from this site about how to remove the tyre pressure sensors. He switched to Michelin PS3's all round. The difference in ride quality over the standard run flats was absoloutely night and day.

I paid for my dads car to have parking sensors fitted a few years ago now. They aren't great. Is there a recommended kit that allows a reversing camera to use the nav screen? Anyone tried it?

Do you have an inroad for this ?

Gents, I'd like to pay and get these fitted to my dad's car. Where is best to go and how much should I pay? I'd like as close to OEM as possible! Many thanks

Hi, when I got the car I only got one key. Now I need to get a spare. I'd also like to get both keys code or frequency changed at the same time in case the existing key is still in circulation. Jemca say £180 all in, would anywhere else be cheaper ?

So, thanks for the help here re the tyre pressure pressure sensors-that's sorted. The car has sat on a trickle charger in the garage while a few other things were sorted. I phoned for some insurance quotes having done the Money Spupermarket thing...quoting for mum and dad (in their late 60's flawless driving records, reasonable postcode) the car is around £800 per year to insure on limited mileage. I paid £400 on my 911!! Any reason these cars are so heavy to insure? Any recomendations for firms to use?

That is MASSIVELY useful, thanks a lot. Really useful forum here!

Ordered a handbook for the car (came without) via Lexus with the sat nav manual at the same time. They tell me its on back order and could take months to arrive! Is this manual on line anywhere as a PDF? Cheers

Thanks for that. I'll try the sensor fix tomorrow! What parking sensors (if any) do you use. Dont like the look of the aftermarket "wart" types, but I've read mixed reviews re the antenna style in bumper type. What SC430 owners preferred choice?

Gentlemen,
I come to you asking for help. My dad has bought a lovely very low miles SC430. He's coming to it from a loaded Bmw 330D Touring. The car is immaculate but already there are a few issues which I hope you can help me resolve.
1. The tyre pressure warning light is on. The little research I've done thus far leads me to believe this is a common problem. The car has only done 11k and I have checked the pressures all around which appear correct. I certainly dont want him spending £110 per sensor, which I saw mentioned on another thread. How can I disable this system..easily?
2. The rear struts that lift the boot up seem to have given up the ghost. The boot opens fine to swallow the roof, I think the struts the opposite side are working then. How much to replace/repair the actual boot struts? I'm assuming its reasonably easy to do?
3. I cant believe a car this well equipped came without rear parking sensors? Any specific set you chaps use ( I'm assuming some of you have wives/girlfriends who cant park without them) There are loads on the bay, but I'd like some that fit behind the rear bumper without showing, do a good job and for all intents and purposes look "factory". Which set do I need, How much, who dO I use to fit them?
4. Similar to the above, dad has a parrot kit fitted to the 330. Is this is simple retro fit to a Sc430? What harness do I need? Where from and how much?
Sorry to hit you with so many questions, I'm a regular on the Porsche forums and the best place to look for answers on anything car related seems to be a model specific net' forum. Be grateful for helpful replies. Thanks in advance.

Hi Avril.
The tyre sensor have a life span of between 3 5 years.
Lexus make a small fortune on these, as they are around £110 each sensor plus fitting costs.
You can turn the sensor off, i am not recommending you do this nor would Lexus in case you sue me.
I turned mine off and changed the wheels, never had any issue's.
If you pm me i can give details how to do this.
I take it your sensor and buzzer are both going.
Ian

As above, my dad just got a low miles SC430 and this light is on. How do you disable? Cheers
