  5. Not sure what size DHP are, I think they are the best looking wheels a 400 had but I've heard various stories of it being difficult to get tyres for them now.
  6. Well I believe it can affect the speedometer reading slightly and I also think you really should inform your insurance company as it's considered a modification. The first LS430 had 17" wheels and the facelift 18" and some say the ride is a little firmer on 18" I think anything you do that isn't what Lexus strived to achieve will compromise the ride somewhat but probably not enough to worry about. I fitted new wheels with lower profile tyres to my LS400 and immediately put the originals back but I think LS430 wheels will be fine. With that said I guess prefacelift wheels may give you a better ride being 17".
  7. When we planned our last Euro trips we found many wouldn't cover cars over 15 years but the RAC did, and apart from thankfully not needing them the service was excellent.
  8. I seem to remember LPD were doing free delivery for LOC members, certainly worth checking.
  9. Unlikely topping up the oil would make a difference if it's between the levels. I'd consider the oil pressure switch to be suspect. It could also be the oil pump failing.
  10. It's interesting that you mention the Camry. Years before I got my first Lexus I rented a car in Canada which was a Camry. With my wife in the passenger seat we traveled a good 1,000 miles and were mightily impressed, now I see why!
  11. Put some fuel in quickly or you'll be discovering how heavy these cars are to push!
  12. That reminds me of the MK2 I bought, a 92 model. I knew nothing about Lexus but loved the look, I didn't even know who made them. I thought it would be good fun to buy it at £1,500 and it turned out to be my most reliable car ever, I kept it for five years and spent hardly anything on it. You'll regret it if you let it go!
  13. Yes, I've bashed the whole area. Its not a massive problem and I'm guessing its maybe since the weather turned much colder. It reminds me of my MK2 LS400 that had the blank dash until it warmed up, that was remedied with replacement capacitors. I'll keep an eye on it during the week to see if it is heat related.
  14. In my experience with air suspension there seems to be no pattern to when it kicks in. Some mornings the compressor would run regularly, sometimes I wouldn't hear it for a few days. As has been said, the compressor will kick in when you slow right down from speed (it will always do this) or when passengers get in or out, if you park on uneven ground or on a kerb etc. Leaks usually get worse so I would maybe monitor it for a few weeks to see it it's stable. Obviously if the vehicle drops over a day or two it's likely to be an air leak so that's another area to watch.
