  1. And buying from Rock and using FedEx the tax is prepaid and parts will arrive within 5 days, using the post option will mean paying tax on arrival plus handling charge!
  2. Looking at Rockauto, Denso condenser and drier will cost you £156 all in, not sure they have the pipe though.
  3. For a while I've been looking at the possibility of getting an MX-5, guess who came up on eBay selling one! He's also got a GS300 for sale!
  4. I'm sure that's the same in most cases, I only replaced mine for peace of mind and because on a previous one I found a deep split.
  5. I know just what you mean! I believe the radiator without the cap was fitted to later cars and as far as I'm aware you should be able to use it without any problems.

    WANTED

You tend to find LS400 owners would rather part with their teeth than their cars! If you find something post it here as someone may well know the history of it. Avoid any LS being sold in Dudley!
  7. Estimated
  8. I think it may help if you can get someone with a little bit of mechanical knowledge to listen under the bonnet when you turn the steering wheel, especially get them to concentrate on the steering pump itself. It may also help to remove the belt and feel for any play/grinding in the various bearings/pulleys that the belt drives.
  9. Good to know, not that I intend towing, but it's good info for those that do. I've just checked my spare piece of transmission cooler hose and it's 17mm externally and I slipped a jubilee clip over it which says on the box 10-16mm and the fit is just right.
  10. If it turns out to be either of the above options then no, not expensive jobs. I'm not too familiar with the GS300 layout but on the LS400/430 belt replacement takes just a few minutes and about £15. Hopefully "Tigerfish" will be along to offer advice, he's the earlier GS knowledge! Btw, if the rest of the car looks like it does in the video you've got a beauty!
  11. I wonder if it could be the power steering pump belt slipping? Has it been replaced at anytime do you know?
  12. I've got a piece of transmission hose in my workshop so I'll try to remember to measure it tomorrow. How do you find towing with an LS, it's rare to see them with a towbar....then again it's rare to see them anywhere!
  13. No, that's not the case. The cooler that sits in the bottom of the radiator is aluminium and is only held in place by the nuts on the front of the radiator. I've posted photos somewhere on the forum of the one I dismantled, it clearly shows corrosion being the problem. I would say another way of preventing this would be to dismantle one side of the radiator connections at a time, clean well and replace the O rings, that should do the job....if you're brave enough!! I have also fitted a separate cooler, also a very very easy job.
  14. It does because the fluid completely bypasses the radiator. It certainly does work.
  15. The problem is not the radiator itself, the problem comes from the unions corroding with rust which causes them to expand and then the O rings no longer seal.
