  1. I think it's important to take it to someone who's done these before. I paid £180 for a Gates kit including water pump and my excellent mechanic charged £150 labour, I supplied the coolant for topping up. A lovely car!
  2. Or maybe the car is wet after coming in from the rain, I guess that could make sense.
  3. I've never seen this before and if you Google it nothing shows. I can only guess the tester was so excited about testing a nice rare car that he (or she) moistened their pants with pleasure, hence wet test!😁
  4. Not being over familiar with the GS as I only had mine for 6 months or so, but it sounds like an ABS sensor is playing up.
  5. Keep us posted on how the job goes Mike, it's always interesting to read.
  6. That does look very nice, good colour as well. I think the MOT advisories are pretty much what to expect from a 22 year old car.
  7. The OEM ones will no doubt be the best bet but they will cost a lot more and (may) be harder to get, although SKF have been making bearings for many manufacturers for a long time so I'd be happy with them.
  8. I thought the MK4 was 280bhp and the earlier ones were 270. The LS430 I believe is 290. And I think that's correct that it's a press in bearing. They're not expensive from Rockauto, an SKF one is only about £25 plus tax and shipping, which shouldn't be much.
  9. If the front lower ball joints are like the 430, and I think they are, they're very easy and not too expensive. A good result then!
  10. As nice as that looks it's nowhere near as nice as the MK4 to drive. The MK4 seats are just the best in my opinion.
  11. Well it was the best, his loss, and mine actually, it was showroom condition with every main dealer service stamp.
  12. I'd be interested to know if he still has my 430 as he said it's the best one he's ever had.
  13. Old Baz ended up with my last LS430, he phoned me to ask a few questions and he is a genuine guy. I had a car that got shunted up the rear and ended up a cat c just for a bumper and a slightly dented tailgate, it wouldn't bother me if I had evidence of the damage.
  14. My man in Sussex is always happy to fit customers parts.
  15. A pity you don't live closer, I'd thoroughly recommend a great place in West Sussex, unless you wait for restrictions to be lifted and have a day by the sea!
