  1. I can tell that you're very keen to use that, may I suggest you try it on yours first, then let us know how you got on!
  2. Oh, I see, pry tools! Well I may just very gently give that a go tomorrow, and I mean gently!
  3. So does that mean I follow the video and continue working my way up? I somehow didn't think it would be straightforward, but I'd hoped it wouldn't mean removing the whole centre. I may not use a screwdriver to remove the wood trim like the guy in the video though!
  4. I've got a slight but annoying rattle behind this bank of switches, sounds like it's just under the surface. Anyone know how to remove them? Ta.
  5. No problem, I'll ask tomorrow if I get the chance
  6. I haven't done it myself but I've watched it being done at my local Jaguar specialist. Quite honestly it doesn't look that difficult, the guy turns up with a few basic tools and a hair drier! I can ask him when I see him next if you like, he may give some pointers.
  7. Get yourself a facelift LS430, fantastic value. In fact with your budget you can get 3 or 4! Then you'll still have a classic looking limo that's a delight to drive and a pleasure to be in!
  8. To be honest I don't know if it's OE spec but they seem to be well built. I got mine through Eurocarparts rather than eBay or the likes, that way I've got easy comeback if there was a problem.
  9. I've got a Koyo on mine, and my previous LS had one as well. Seem OK to me.
  10. Still, there is some good news. The president also has an LS430 and survives when the car is wrecked, so if you have a big Lexus and are chased over a ravine by very bad men you may well survive!
  11. I like them enough to want them myself! The facelift wheels do look better in my opinion. The problem is we're never satisfied. When I had a MK4 I wanted LS430 wheels on it, now I've got a 430 I want facelift wheels, if I had facelift wheels I'd probably want something else. For that reason I'm sticking with what I've got......for now... Nice car, exactly the same as mine.... except you've got nicer wheels!!
  12. Well as I say, I got a Bosch battery for £47 which no one else could match and a Koyo radiator for £85 which is now £135, and the Brembo brake pads for my Volvo for £30 which I can't match anywhere else so it seems good to me.
  13. Good point! I couldn't help noticing when watching an episode yesterday that the camera purposely panned towards a bad man's black LS430 for no other reason than showing the front grille.
  14. As it happens I notice Eurocarparts are offering 30% off online until this eve, a pretty good deal I think. I bought a Bosch battery for my wife's car, £47.
  15. I'm quite a fan of Eurocarparts and they often have online deals at weekends. I got the radiator for my LS for £85 and the service parts for my Volvo at 30% discount last Bank Holiday. I don't have the same issue with suits as the last one I wore was in 1972, and the manufacturing location of my chosen outfitters garments has remained consistently far eastern, adorning me with the semi vagrant look!
  16. Wow, what a fantastic project!...and it certainly made you laugh! Looking forward to more on this please.
  17. I've read about various complimentary comments testers have made regarding these cars, it's all very encouraging, although the only one I ever got was "big init"
  18. Unless you're below 18 years old I can't understand why anyone would listen to music radio at all, even when they do play something good they talk over the end of it. When have you ever heard Hotel California without the DJ preferring their own voice before the end? However, the ML system comes into its own when you put a CD on!
  19. Very good news. I think I mentioned recently that after doing an mot check, my first Lexus, a 93 LS400 that I owned for five years, has passed again with no advisories!
  20. The only major concern people have is the air suspension which can cost not only an arm, but also a leg to put right! Personally I wouldn't be too concerned with that because most stay trouble free. Steering wheel motors can play up, but so can they on the LS400. The engine is basically the same as the LS400 and is superb. I think the electronics are generally pretty reliable. Side windows can de-laminate but that may be mostly on the early ones. The thing is to try a couple to get the feel.
  21. I'm just very thankful that I discovered it before I peeled too much off. Anyway, that's another lesson learned, and as Jason says I'll just be happy to fly the flag!
  22. Well just be careful because when I began to remove mine I found that they are fixed into the boot with pegs, so if yours is the same you'll have to have the holes filled and repainted!
