  1. I thought the early US ones didn't have the front fogs, and I didn't think those wheels went forward to the MK3. But then I haven't had a MK3 so I bow to superior knowledge!
  2. Well I'm with you on that! I suppose it's just interesting to see what's out there and to see cars of that age with silly low mileage and looking immaculate. You wouldn't see that with too many cars that came out of Longbridge!!
  3. I don't know how old the photo is, I just found it online. I suppose it can't be that old though as they generally get looked after until things really start to go wrong and cost loads.
  4. Correct, I had my 3 mounts replaced and it took about 30 mins with parts costing £9, I was charged £20 for fitting. I would somehow doubt that it's your problem though. If you switch to "high" do you get the same noise? Mine turns out not to be the mounts but the bearing. I have my friendly Jaguar specialist on the case who bought a Denso repair kit for it for £18. It's been like it for a year and never worsened but it will be nice to get it done.
  5. Like Mark, I've also done one. The main thing is to get an identical used one, every marking has to be the same. I bought mine on eBay for £25 and a new blank which I had cut. Worked a treat. Don't get one from the US as it won't work. Contact someone breaking and ask if they have a key, or just keep checking under keys.
  6. You should try a customer I've been dealing with lately, radioactivity would seem like a cure for insomnia compared to her!! Funny how the grass is always greener, the fabric seats on that import look really nice, but if I had them I'd be saying the same about leather!

  8. I use mine daily for getting to work, about 10 miles round trip. Do it, you'll love it!
  9. Beautiful looking vessel! I've had mine for exactly a year now and it's been faultless, and for a 16 year old it still drives better than most new cars I've tried.
  10. That's very impressive! Being a carpenter I understand making furniture wax, but I've never heard of it being made for cars. Great result.
  11. The one I bought early last year ( that I returned to the dealer) had an oil leak from both rocker covers, so it does happen.
  12. Nice colour, looks the biz from here. If it all checks out the price is fair as well.
  13. The pre-facelift ones can be removed without removing the bumper so surely yours would be the same. Without electrocuting yourself have you tried a multi meter on the bulb fitting? I'm sure you're aware of how careful you have to be with the high voltage.
  14. I bet you were relieved to find it was nothing major!
  15. We did divert to the Columbia icefield where we stayed overnight at the Icefield Chalet, and the next day went on the strange bus type thing that took us on to the glacier, an amazing experience. We then had to continue to Calgary as we were staying with my sister. We've done the same trip twice, once in the Camry and once in a Honda awd of some kind, useful as it snowed heavily that time!
  16. have you considered becoming a poet?! For me it was driving over 4 days from Vancouver to Calgary in a rented Toyota Camry, taking our time, in awe of the mountains and lakes and surprisingly enjoying the 60mph speed limit!
  17. My last LS400 had black leather, sooo easy to look after! And after looking again at the picture of your interior, how could anyone not like that. Back to reality, time to make dinner!
  18. Considering how quiet, fast, smooth and comfy the 430 is that's really something that the 460 is an improvement. I hope you'll be really happy with it, and obviously I'm not in the least bit envious!!!!
  19. Lovely looking car. I was never sure about black leather with all that wood but it's really grown on me and it looks superb!
  20. Congratulations! It'll be interesting to know how it compares to the 430.
  21. I used to live just 10 mins away but now it's two hours, I think my wife would complain if I said I'm going to London to meet some people who like a certain make of car!
  22. I had no idea they did this. I used to go to the Ace café in my biker days back in the 70's, very interesting. Well done for spotting it!
