  1. Much depends on driving conditions. Mine is a pre-facelift (5 speed) and very recently I managed 36.5 mpg on a trip up to Bradford at 65-75mph. So I reckon 450 miles to a tank is achievable.
  2. The thing that never ceases to amaze me is the turning circle. It's far better than the Corsa my wife once had. If for some reason mine doesn't sell I think I may take it on a trip to Austria in the spring. The grumble from the front brakes is normal really, mine does it and so has every LS I've owned.
  3. About an inch for the suspension, you really don't notice it much at all.
  4. I can't help thinking this topic is suffering from a severe case of the Richard Turpin's!!🏇
  5. I will do, although as much as I love the colour of yours it may just be a tad over budget.
  6. I think I'll be looking at an 06/07. If I pay any more I'll have too much explaining to do with my wife!
  7. I love it! If money was no object that would be in my motoring arsenal!
  8. I couldn't agree more. I used this one just as an example to see which MK it was. The way the interior is kept says a lot to me about how a car is cared for, I wouldn't even bother with this one.
  9. I'm also thinking of various rubber parts/bushes. Down here in the south we don't tend to get really cold nights, by that I mean below -2. If we do it doesn't last long. For that reason I wonder if rubber is affected more in colder climates like parts of Scotland? Or should I just stick to carpentry?!!
  10. So this is a MK3? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-LEXUS-GS300-SE-AUTO-SALOON-AUTO-07-REG-ONLY-DONE-64K-WITH-FULL-S-HISTORY/232585346608?hash=item36272abe30:g:whcAAOSwX-pZsmFX
  11. So when did the mk's 1, 2, and 3 come in, I mean what years? There's a big difference between tax from 2005, after that it really jumps.
  12. I could be wrong, but it would be my guess that keeping a car garaged would contribute greatly to some parts lasting where on others they fail, including the windows which can delaminate. If it spends a third of its life protected from the elements, it seems to make sense to me. As someone once said, we're at the lower end of the motoring food chain with these cars, but at least they go wrong far less than anything else comparable. I've not had a major bill in 9 years with either LS, not bad going!
  13. I did end up buying Pagid as replies were in short supply! And I agree, I can't think of an easier car to fit pads on.
  14. When I get a chance I'll go out and play with mine to see what it does.
  15. For what it's worth my 16 year old LS is in top shape, no reason to sell it at all. The reason I'm now looking to sell it is to buy a later GS300 which will cost me more to tax, the only reason....I want too!
  16. From what I can make out it's £520 for a non hybrid, but £320 for the earlier one (2005). Strange really considering my V8 which is 16 years old is only £270.
  17. I don't suppose the rear AC has been capped off at some stage has it? It's not too uncommon if the rear pipes have corroded.
  18. Thanks gents. The transmission sounds like the one from the awful old Daf cars!! Wasn't that CVT? They seem good value, although the higher tax may put some off. There are a few around so after Christmas I'll do some searching. I'll post them up for your opinions.
