  1. Congratulations! Mine had the dash creaks when I bought it but I've managed to sort them without too much effort. I recently drove nearly 2,500 miles on a road trip without a single bum ache!
  2. Yes, a beautiful car. I saw one when I drove up to Bradford a few months ago, they look bigger in the flesh.
  3. Me too, I've had the calipers lubricated and new pads but I always get a slight grinding noise when reversing, doesn't seem to be a problem.
  4. I've looked at this in the past for my LS's and the only info I've found is main dealer or non dimming from eBay or similar. The main dealer glass is a ridiculous £250 or there about, so I just bought a non dimming one for £9 made to fit the LS. I found that I could stick it over the existing glass with silicone and it still heated OK. I don't think another type of dimming glass will work. I did take the old one out before fixing the new one to it so I could get the plastic trim round it again, looked fine I think. None of my 4 LS's have had radio codes either.
  5. The mirror mechanism on all models suffer from being gunked up and lacking lubricant. Taking the glass out and cleaning the moving parts seems to work in most cases.
  6. Good luck for today, keep us posted, it's always good (and helpful) to know how others get on.
  7. Toothpaste works a treat but nothing is instant, it all requires elbow work.
  8. Yes they do and are prone to breaking which would also cause a height problem, much cheaper to repair if so.
  9. It does sound like height sensor trouble, although as mentioned running the engine while raised on a jack or hoist can affect it, although not permanently. Sensors unfortunately are around £350 each and you have four.
  10. Good luck with your search. Hopefully someone will confirm if it is the seller mentioned, be wary if it is.
  11. So has mine Ditto. And what a fine looking GS that is!
  12. I drove my GS for a month before changing my 02 sensor and it seemed fine.
  13. I think I'll replace my rear bushes. I once had what everyone thought was a loose rear exhaust box on a Vauxhall but it turned out to be radiator mounts, but the sound traveled to the rear fooling everyone.
  14. Interesting. The system works very well then because I can put mine on on a hot day and they'll blow cold air within a minute or so.
  15. It does have a dipstick, and I would start by checking the rubber hoses that connect the in and out of the transmission fluid to the radiator cooler. I say that because when I changed my radiator I found one of the hoses split, with not much time left before a major leak. As you say Malc, not something we've read about before.
  16. I don't know about filters but the seats in my GS heat very well and cool very well too, not just air but cold air.
  17. That's sort of how mine is but I only get it with very minor bumps and rough surfaces. I feel nothing at all through the steering either. I can't wait to find the problem as it's an irritant, although not a serious one.
  18. I think the only thing it will damage is the aerodynamics. The suspension automatically lowers at speed and rises again when you slow down, apart from that I would just enjoy the ride!
  19. Hmm, no joy with mine today apart from being told nothing is wrong and it's a lovely car!
  20. The MK4 was the last LS400, many say it's the very best although all are excellent.
  21. Hmm, I'm a tradesman and I've only got Bosch, and my mature woman is Irish, although I am over 60, do you think that's OK or am I lacking something?🤔🍀
  22. Mine is in for service tomorrow but I'm not too hopeful as its been looked at twice already without results so it'll be interesting to hear what's found on yours.
