  1. Hmmm, 80's Crown, that's a bit of bling I'd be happy with!
  2. I did the same. I emailed the branch where mine was serviced but I didn't get a reply so I phoned them. All they told me was that it will have been serviced according to the schedule but won't let me have a copy of invoices. It would be nice to see exactly what's been done, especially evidence of a plug change at the last major service last year at 62k. They told me they would have been changed but who knows.
  3. I'm guessing it's a 56 plate with the rest blocked?
  4. It looks superb. Enjoy! That looks a bit like somewhere in West London.
  5. That's something I've not heard of, how does it work? Mine has full Lexus history but likewise all I have is the stamped book. I phoned to ask for more info but was told I can't have any due to data protection!
  6. Why is it that anywhere that does work like this is always miles from me! I guess that's the price for living on the south coast, everything has the be northwards! And that's another thing, every, and I mean every LS430 I've seen for sale is in the Midlands and beyond.😐
  7. And without wanting to be rude it'll interesting to know how much you paid. I only ask as I'm keeping my future options open!
  8. Welcome to the LOC James!😀
  9. I only mentioned my Volvo seats getting too cold by way of saying how fast and efficient they are, even the manual warns against leaving them on max for too long! As you may know I sold my LS430 earlier this year, a decision I regret as it was exceptional, you know you'll miss it!
  10. I once did the same with a diesel and there wasn't any damage, although I didn't drive very far before I realised my mistake. Interesting reading Paul's comments, I always assumed putting petrol in a diesel was less harmful than vice versa.
  11. I think it must be to do with all the tiny holes in the ventilated seats, they surely can't be as robust. That said, the seats on my 430's were all excellent. Having had two 400's I know it would be hard to improve on the quality of the leather.
  12. My GS cooled seats are pretty good I must say, they were a fab thing to have on our recent road trip. I know I've said this before but they're not as good as my Volvo ones which you can't leave on max for too long before they get too cold. So why Lexus didn't make the earlier ones better is a mystery. Still, the ones I have are certainly good enough.
  13. Would you like some counselling? £120+VAT per hour. Cash for a fellow tradesman could bring the price down! I'll be in Somerset in September, we could have our first session then, my wife and dog can wait in the car.
  14. I had a similar experience, also from an elderly gentleman. I came out of a shop and saw him admiring my LS 430, he just said "I've admired it before, absolutely splendid". Which begs the question again, why did I sell it! Still, I'm on the lookout for another.
  15. Does the ride feel the same, and did you have any warning lights to deal with, and did you leave the pump in place? It'll be good info for owners of LS430/460's.
  16. I had the same issue on my Volvo. Try lowering the window and keep your finger on the button for 8-10 seconds, then raise it and keep your finger on the button for the same amount of time and it hopefully will reset it..... hopefully.
  17. And if that's your house in the background the beers are definitely on you!
  18. I like that a lot, a great improvement.👍
  19. It's more the neck, oh the neck! Still, semi retirement now which means more cherry picking with the work! 🍒🍒
  20. That's a mean looking machine, I'd move out of the way if I saw it coming (which I wouldn't do at the moment as Vision Express let me down this week)
  21. To be honest the cooled seats on the LS430 are not great which is surprising considering how good the rest of the car is. Some owners go so far as to say they're useless. I've had two and neither were very impressive with seat cooling.
  22. My understanding is that the clutch will disengage and re-engage constantly with climate control, but if the system isn't working correctly, or there's insufficient gas it will keep running. Halfords I'm afraid would be my last choice when it comes to having my system even glanced at. I had an LS that went to them some years ago for a re-gas and they made a real pigs ear of it. I would take it to a specialist for their opinion. Colin has given good advice above so I would be looking at something other than the compressor at this stage.
  23. They look so good, better than they do on an SC for some reason.
  24. It was often one of the very few weak areas of the LS400, especially the earlier ones. Owners sometimes replace it with copper microbore, much cheaper than a main dealer part and easy to shape.
