  1. Everything is in Japanese/English. No idea why it isn't all Japanese but they're all the same. At least I know where everything is having had a couple before.
  2. Haha, no, it's a road that comes up from the seafront and leads into the woods. I'll take some pics of the interior over the weekend, it's going to my mechanic tonight for an oil change to be on the safe side. Apparently all cars in Japan have a flare by law, but I was only expecting the tube, not the whole thing!
  3. ,Some pics for anyone who's interested, including the flare tube complete with flare!
  4. Sadly no, it'll mean a unit from a breakers. I may not bother as it plays radio2 and CD's!
  5. Another 15k! If you manage to get 45k out of your tyres you may want to consider the Guinness book of records! Hope you get it sorted.
  6. They are very professional, no pushy selling, the opposite in fact. They do change the speedometer and fix the mileage according to the info on the Japanese documents. That is my GS, and as nice as it is, it's just so nice to get back in a V8!
  7. I guess it depends who imports them. I bought mine from a dealer called Goodmayes near Purfleet who are a very big, and professional importer. They supply a certificate to verify the mileage plus a printout of service history showing the mileage. Obviously most of the wording is Japanese but they explained to me what it said and I have no reason to doubt them. I was also given the Japanese auction info with photos of the car at auction also verifying the mileage. After a fair amount of research it becomes clear that the Japanese are fastidious when it comes to service/maintenance.
  8. This is the one they gave me with the car, she said can you drop me off at Cracket Rane services, of course she meant Clacket Lane!
  9. After a hideous journey to Essex on the M25 the ride home was superb, quiet, relaxed and it drove beautifully. So far so good. I'll get some decent photos on soon for anyone interested. Road tax only £265. All I need to do now is find out how to stop it talking to me in Japanese every time I start it!
  10. It's just bacteria, smelly all the same. You can get a spray to nuetralise it from the likes of Halfords. Or you can have it professionally done at an AC equipped garage.
  11. Can you feel it in the cabin vibrating anywhere or is it just a noise? I would have thought a heavy car with 30k on the tyres you'd be starting to see your reflection in them by now so I would consider them the main suspect at this stage. Maybe get an opinion on your tyres from a trustworthy source. It's not uncommon for them to wear so that they become out of shape causing a rumble, I've had it myself.
  12. I certainly remember someone having a rumble and it was due to a mix of cheap Chinese tyres.
  13. Mine is an SE and has all those except sunroof and DVD and I have the rear blind.
  14. Shame I didn't know, you could have had mine and got yourself the bargain of the year!
  15. Hard to say from the video, but a ticking sound is normal if it has direct fuel injection.
  16. Ah, thanks. I've got a feeling the US market LS had it there as well.
  17. It's such a shame that a car like a Lexus can be let down by annoying rattles and creaks. To be honest, although my GS looks like it just came out of the showroom, the seemingly loose fittings of the cabin are a big factor in me going back to an older LS, they were just so well made. I love the look of the GS, and the interior is very, very nice, but I loose patience trying to pin all the rattles down.
  18. Get yourself a gen 3 GS300, then you'll really know what a creaky cabin is!!
  19. Just checked this info, the car is a 4&B. The dealer says they are members of BIMTA and will provide a certificate to verify the mileage. Also no "R" Thanks again for the heads up! The dealer has cleaned the interior and polished the body. I had a good look over it and all I could really see were some minor stone chips.
  20. I'm sure you've made the right decision, even if it's just for your own peace of mind.
  21. It was MOT'd at the beginning of this month, I did find it on the gov site.
  22. That's the very car, what's wrong with that, you getting picky or what?
  23. Thanks for the info. I'll be picking it up later this week so I'll go through that before I part with any money. The dealer has the best feedback I've ever seen and they import huge amounts of cars from Japan and seem very picky about what they buy. Forewarned is forearmed and all that. It was only registered in this country at the beginning of this month.
  24. I'll be looking with interest for that! Maybe you can answer my other question, where's the coolant reservoir,?
