    I understand what you're saying, but as someone who has done plumbing for many years I think it's up to the job. The reason I mention it being soft (although not that soft) is that it can absorb a bit of a hit without breaking or puncturing. If it was mine I'd certainly do it and feel confident that it would last.

    I thought that copper being soft would be able to cope with the odd stone hitting it.

    Looking online at front discs, and in the fitment detail it says: 282hp 207kw or 283hp 208kw. Both are 315cm, both the same year but only one fits, any idea what that's all about?

    Can't the pipe be replaced with copper microbore like some do with the LS power steering?

    The GS suffers in just the same way. I took out my radio and put the fluffy side of velcro everywhere which worked, then I pushed black rubber used in glazing between the dash and the windscreen, and all I had left was a slight noise from the glovebox. Annoying to say the least that anyone should have to do this. Unfortunately it does seem to get worse when the weather turns cold.

    This must be driving you nuts. At least you know the sensors you've replaced won't let you down! We're all waiting to celebrate with you when it's finally sorted. Have you taken it to a main dealer for a diagnostic? The OBD diagnostic tools you can buy are ok but I don't think they can work as well as the real thing. Does Toyota's Techstream work on a 97 car I wonder. A Toyota dealer may charge less if so.

    It may just be worth asking them how it's done and what's needed though as it's something they do all the time.

    My Celsior was in kilometres so when the dealer brought it in they replaced it with another unit then set the mileage according to the Japanese auction documents. I don't know how it's done but if you don't have any luck it may be worth phoning Goodmayes Motors in Purfleet, ask for David and see if he can offer any advice.

    To be honest I don't think that's too bad, I was quoted much more than that for an LS400 key nearly 4 years ago. I don't know of any other way, which doesn't mean there isn't one of course.

    Apparently the LS430 still has a lower DC than a 2018 Tesla! I sometimes use my shifter to slow the car down approaching speed cameras etc rather than braking.

    I simply don't understand the tax system. My current Celsior which has the same engine as the SC is only £265.

    This is what always brings me back to an LS, the cabin is such a fantastic place to be. Maybe your transmission could have a sticky solenoid. I really hope you get it sorted and enjoy it for some time to come.

    It does look exceptional. I agree it seems a tad pricey but it's worth paying for a fine example if you intend to keep it for some time.

    And let's not forget "it'll rain now" I cleaned mine yesterday and dried it with the newly discovered waffle towel, then I used a Triplewax waterless wash (not that I would do a waterless wash) but I only used about half an eggcup sprayed on the car and it gave it an amazing shine and took just a few mins. I know its probably not something to always do but feeling a bit lazy it worked wonders.

    One US forum says lightly wipe dishwasher liquid on the rubbers. It does work but not for that long.

    So why have I never used a waffle towel? I washed the car today, dried it with a waffle towel, just amazing! Not a streak to be seen. 👍👍

    I think that's sensible advice. Although these older Lexus cars may go wrong less than their luxury European competitors, when they do go wrong (depending on what it is) you may have to dig very deep. Get one by all means as I believe they're the best you can buy from their period, just be prepared for what is eventually unavoidable.
