  1. If the suspension drops overnight then there's a problem. During every day use the compressor will kick in to keep things even but only for 20 seconds or so. It's worth noting that the LS430 always appears to sit low at the rear and high at the front. It does look low in the pictures but they're not the best images so hard to say on that one.
  2. Yes, I don't really understand why they can't all be like that.
  3. Having had my aerial chewed and pulled off three times I thought I'd have one of these. I don't know if there's any connection but the phone/Bluetooth signal has never been as strong!
  4. Just to say, replacing the sealing ring didn't resolve my issue! What happened to the ball joint?
  5. You need to get a decent diagnostic check. If it's an O2 sensor a running diagnostic will tell you how they're functioning, or not. Otherwise it's just guesswork. Some garages invest large amounts on diagnostic equipment, try to find one that specialises. Our local one charges £65 an hour but they really know their stuff.
  6. I replaced the filler cap sealing ring on my GS, only £12 for a rubber ring!
  7. It was one of those little things that bugged me so had to be done, I'm really pleased with the result. I may be wrong, but someone said that PF only breaks V8's?
  8. The one that Paul Frost had was a Lexus one but I told him I wanted to keep the Toyota badge so I didn't need the horn pad, so I put the original one back. Interesting how these steering wheels are weighted inside, not quite sure why though.
  9. John, I got it from Paul Frost £110, and I fitted it myself this morning. Wiring was slightly different so I just swapped everything. Easy job apart from lining up the horn pad/air bag screws. I gave Paul my VIN and he matched up the colour.
  10. Yes, rear fog lights, maybe fitted in the UK?
  11. I think you'll agree this is much nicer than the scabby one the car came with, damaged due to a sticky cover.
  12. A few days ago I was directly behind a silver LS430 near my house, this morning on the A24 in Sussex I was behind a burgundy one. The chances of that happening again are slim. That's what I like about having a Toyota badge, rarer still..... for now.
  13. Well if that isn't a big thumbs up for the LS430 I don't know what is! I know you converted yours (LS) to coil struts, would you recommend it for those who have suspension problems?
  14. What did do was to coat it in cayenne pepper, grease and chilli! Time will tell.
  15. Well as you know I have a Celsior and I'm chuffed to bits with it. If you can find yourself a fresh import you'll get low mileage and a shiny underbelly! There is of course still the potential for problems but some can be prevented, others can be repaired by a good indie. What happened in Sainsbury's car park?
  16. I guess if you specialise in a certain car you have your fingers in all the advertising pies and auctions. I once spent a week on a narrow boat and quickly discovered the merits of a barge pole, but still I wouldn't use it to touch one of his cars!
  17. In that case it may put doubt on an O2 sensor. My wife has had problems with her car and I tried with my very basic scanner but it wasn't clear. I took it to a mechanic with much better equipment but still not clear. I then took it to a diagnostic specialist who charged £65 but the problem was found and the car sorted. The thing is, they invest thousands in equipment so it may be worth going down that route. Basic scanners are fine for "basic" faults, but sometimes its not enough. Hopefully someone will come up with something more helpful.
  18. One of the things you will really enjoy is being able to just slide into the drivers seat from standing, as opposed to getting into the car. Then when you stop you just slide out again! I must say, the elevated driving position in these type of vehicles is excellent.
  19. With the GS300 I had the VSC light was the post cat o2 sensor, and I'm guessing these sensors are the single most common reason for it. If a cheapish OBD11 scanner doesn't show a code a good one often will. When you say it's off until the car moves off, does that mean it just comes and goes? Sometimes I think it's worth just spending that bit extra and getting a pro to do a diagnostic.
  20. I see they do a cream or powder, any idea which is best? I've also got a smeared windscreen problem so I'd like to try this.
  21. It certainly seems so. The LS430 he sold last week also had a good record. Let's not get too optimistic though!
  22. Unbelievably it happened again last night! This is after I'd repaired it for the second time, but this time I put grease mixed with leather cleaner all over it, still they've chewed it off! The damage is't so bad this time, presumably due to the new flavour. There was a line of paw prints all along the bonnet and roof. Looks like I'm going to have to park off of my drive until the novelty has worn off, or at least until the shark fin arrives. It's keeping the neighbours amused though!
  23. Going back to my wife's car, and another issue. a few weeks ago she had an EML on with slight loss of power, this happened after a service and MOT. Another local garage read the codes of which there were 4, two relating to both o2 sensors. None of it made sense so we paid £65 to have it scanned by a very professional garage. After some time they traced the fault to a missing fuse, they replaced the fuse and all is fine! I still wonder what on earth happened during that service and MOT. No one seems to know!
