  1. After having my roof aerial chewed off three times I replaced it with a plastic shark fin which looked really good, this morning footprints on the car and a hole chewed in the aerial! This is driving me nuts. Looking at the prints I would say it's a cat. Now I've got to park on the street! Maybe it's coat hanger time.
  2. Yes, I was going to suggest that as well.
  3. Been out in mine and they don't light up, piece of junk! Although it does have a light around the rear view mirror area that just gives a faint, almost orange glow to gently light up the cabin which I like, so its never completely dark.
  4. Hi Darren, welcome to the LOC. I'm not sure which wheels will fit but I'm sure the help you're looking for will come in due course.
  5. I can't remember if mine light up but they do oscillate to distribute air evenly, the two centre ones that is. I'll have to go out now to check!
  6. I think the advice given so far is good because it could be so many things. Checking with Techstream will save much head scratching and hit and miss remedies. Shame it isn't the following Thursday, I'd have met you there for coffee!
  7. Sitting in my car waiting for my wife when a guy driving a new Nissan pulled up beside me, asked me to wind down the window and he said "that's a beautiful car you've got there". Nice to get a comment like that!
  8. Just up to road from me in Worthing then!
  9. I am referring to the LS430 knob but I imagine the 400 is fitted the same way. I also removed it from my GS, it just unscrewed as well.
  10. I don't remember it that well, it was black with red leather.
  11. The whole thing unscrews anti clockwise, simple as that.
  12. I had a Westminster, it seemed huge in its day, probably looks small now.
  13. I have considered the gear knob, trouble is there's nowt wrong with the existing one. Also they don't seem to come up that often. I'm fairly sure I'll succumb though, that little bit of extra wood would be nice!
  14. I agree to a large extent, it is by far the best car to drive that I've had since passing my test in 1972! When I bought mine around August it had some oil misting on one rear strut and it was a tad bouncy so I bought a used one for £175 and paid £75 to have it fitted and it transformed it. Should I have any more trouble I may continue down that route, maybe. The car has only 63k on it but it may just be time that causes the suspension problems (if they arise)
  15. I'm not sure. If you look him up on eBay there's a mobile number, maybe give him a call to ask him? He's called lexussparesdirect so maybe type that in. I agree, the wood does feel nice, and I was chuffed at the way it matches perfectly without any fading.
  16. I don't think it's necessarily a case of when, but it isn't too uncommon. The compressor can be disconnected and even removed. Apparently it will throw a warning light but there is info out there on how to remove it. With the pre-facelift at least, the windows can delaminate causing unsightly white marks. So far I've had LS430's for 4 years with only one height sensor being replaced. Even these I see Paul Frost has them for £85, better than the £350 I paid. They can sometimes be taken apart, cleaned and resealed.
  17. Great info, and reassuring for anyone (perhaps especially LS430 owners) who have that "what if" question in the back of their minds. Thanks.👍
  18. Did you buy them in the UK, and do they feel similar to the original setup? So presumably the main difference is being adjustable compared to simple coil spring struts?
  19. I see. The ones Strutmaster sell aren't adjustable, just straight replacement, so I'm guessing there's quite a difference.
  20. This is something that has always confused me. What's the difference between coilovers and conventional spring struts, anyone know? Strutmaster in the States manufacturer their own and make some specifically for the LS430 but aren't referred to as coilovers.
  21. Well lucky you, and naturally we'll be expecting pictures! I had a GS300 for 6 months which was great, but I just missed the LS so much.
  22. Yes, air all round. Sadly each corner is £850ish plus each one has a sensor at £350. They are fairly easy to fit though. There are no aftermarket ones apart from Rockauto in the States. A conversion to coils is an option at about £1,300 for all four. On the other hand you may have no trouble with them to worry about anyway!
