  1. Ditto! Oh, and keep the fireworks down please, my dog gets a bit concerned!
  2. Why not do what a couple of us have done recently and go for a Celsior? If you get a fresh import you'll get one with no rust and generally a better maintained car. Most don't have the windows that can delaminate so no worry there. Radiator replacement is quick and easy, and the suspension issues you hear about are not as common as made out, plus used parts or conversion kits are plentiful. I absolutely love the LS430, a good condition one still holds up today as a fantastic looking car. Have a look at the recent post by "skyway" referring to imports. The guy he bought his from has another coming soon with silly low mileage. The imports don't have the troublesome ML sound system either.
  3. Welcome to the LOC. I would say the sat nav is hardly worth the effort. Even with the latest disc (and I don't think it's that late) you still can't put in post codes. You can download the manual, I may still have the link somewhere. The AC problem may be due to the rear pipes being corroded, a common enough problem. If so you can cap the rear off or replace the pipes, the latter being a big job though needing fuel tank removal.
  4. Having seen it, ridden in it and poked my nose all over I can only say if he hadn't bought it I would have. Not sure what I would have done with two mind. You simply wouldn't find a UK LS of that age as clean underneath. Some annoying quirks with an import but nothing that should put anyone off. I would say this was bought for a third less than its market value.
  5. Possibly, but I'm not sure how you find out. The container at the front of the car (the white one) is for the rinse.
  6. I've got the very same thing in the very same position (the first photo) but no idea what it does. The lady speaking when you start, so I'm told, is saying you don't have a card set up to pay the auto toll charges. I just took the satnav disc out which seems to have shut her up. Did you check to see if you have the complete flair? I'd be interested to know if you have a device in the boot (left hand under the cover) that says something like computer parking aid. And do you have the retractable parking mast on the front nearside bumper. You'll probably find some other "odd" things after a while, like the windscreen wash and then rinse that we talked about! Did you discover what that thing in front of the aircon condenser does? Maybe post a photo of it?
  7. And wasn't his Century a beauty! 51 plate but looking like it rolled out of the showroom. A marvelous Celsior you have there, unlikely another one will slip out for that kind of money. And as far as I'm aware no UK spec 430's came without air suspension after the facelift so you have an even rarer beast there, a real bonus. And as I mentioned, you can buy a radiator from ECP or the like and not have to make any adaptions as the Japanese setup is different to the UK, and all the aftermarket ones sold here are for the Japanese/US market, so another bonus! Enjoy!
  8. That's very interesting. Mine has been converted to miles so maybe it's not limited now. Not sure how I'd test it though as it'll be an instant ban speed!
  9. I can't answer your question but I'm interested in what you're asking as mine is apparently limited to 113mph (or there about) due to it being an import. I'm also thinking about Germany (on the way to Austria) next year. I'm guessing it'll be a difficult process removing it.
  10. Hi David, and welcome to the LOC!
  11. To be honest LS's rarely come up for sale here as owners tend to keep hold of them. Nothing to stop private ads though. The LS400 V8 is still considered today to be one of the finest ever built, some say it is the best. It's worth noting that that same bomb proof engine is the same one that's fitted to the LS430, with just a bit of tweaking.
  12. As it happens we've knocked them back as well just in case you passed by!
  13. Lucky you. We've got one avocado (which has finally ripened), two mince pies and 6 pence in chocolate coins. Thai takeaway methinks!.... oh yes, and lots of wine left so not all bad!
  14. It's a lot to do with the Japanese public transport system being so brilliant. The very opposite end of the spectrum to Southern Rail in fact! A friend of mine has been to Japan for a holiday twice in the last two years and told me about the sincere apology passengers had for a train leaving just one minute late!
  15. My diesel Volvo has a warning on the cap saying that it must be turned to click to avoid system problems.
  16. When my GS O2 sensor started playing up I'd erase the code but it would come back within a couple of days, sometimes within minutes. A pinhole in the sensor area wouldn't be noticeable audibly, unless it's a very big pin!
  17. In a small velvet purse inside your waistcoat, where else?
  18. The secret is to take all loose change out of your left trouser pocket, it gives you a lighter foot!👣
  19. I always brake with my left foot, it just feels natural.
  20. Interesting. I thought they were only fitted for the JDM. Did you buy them or were they already fitted?
