  1. No, this is what I can't understand. No scratches just two paw shapes. I've tried everything. Its not a problem as it's close to the edge but it's odd that it just won't go.
  2. A few weeks ago a fox walked over my car leaving two paw prints on the windscreen. I've cleaned and cleaned it, even using Barkeepers Friend as some have suggested, still I can see the paw prints in certain lights. What's all that about then?
  3. Good condition? So the camera does lie after all!
  4. Sadly there are few options. Arnott air shocks from Rockauto in the US are a lot cheaper but I don't know how good they are. Either way, if you bought from Strutmaster they would still work out less including shipping than you'd pay for just two new ones from Lexus!
  5. Welcome to the LOC Alex, you've got a great looking car there. A few more pics would be nice!
  6. I contacted Strutmaster asking about a set for the LS430. They quoted me 900US dollars for parts and the same for shipping! Seems a tad high especially as it'll include some sort of import charge. It's a shame because Strutmaster make them specifically for the car.
  7. Exactly, get yourself down there man! I see a few of them from around that year, they always seem to look a lot bigger than the gen 3 GS. Like I said, great MOT history, great colour, really nice unusual seats, what's not to like? Apart from not being a Citroen of course, eh Chris?
  8. That looks pretty good to me, nice colour, and I really like the upholstery. And great MOT history!
  9. It would seem to be the case that height sensors are more likely to play up than the strut. I still can't understand why they cost so much. Did you keep the old one Neil? It'll be interesting to see if you can take it apart to clean and reseal. It's what the garage did on my very first LS430.
  10. And don't worry about your LS400, I don't think its ever happened to one, so no reason to think it ever will. The cooling system must be different but I can't remember how it was on mine, probably because there was never a reason to look at it!
  11. It affects the 430 and the 460 (or it can potentially) not heard of the problem with the 400. And yes, mine is a 430.
  12. That's the way I've looked at it. It's not much money spent for the peace of mind. An easy job as well. And there's something satisfy about pouring in some fresh coolant!
  13. Well as a precaution I fitted a new Koyo radiator today. I must say the original looked in very good condition. The thing is, you just don't know what's going on inside with those four rubber o rings, so is it worth the risk? Still, at least it gave me the opportunity to replace the rubber transmission hoses, and discover the fluid is a nice bright cherry red. Not too much skin removed from my right arm either! £114 for the radiator, £26 for Toyota red coolant and £10 for the hoses.
  14. I do know the early RX is susceptible to rust on the top of the shock absorbers. I saw the conversion that was done in Brighton, it was very impressive and seemed to sit nice and level.
  15. How about a GS300? Apart from the dash rattles, which are silence-able, I did quite enjoy mine. What I like about the GS is the way it still looks modern, even though they go back to 05. Just not an LS though, and once your bitten it's hard to satisfy the itch.
  16. As far as I'm aware the doors are identical. It's just the nose and back end that were face-lifted.
  17. The door rust is fairly common and it depends on how deep its gone. If it's still surface rust its not too bad to sort. It does look as though it has been allowed to spread somewhat. I've not seen rust on the other area before so maybe, as has been suggested, it's due to previous damage. Also take the advice about the undercarriage before putting effort into the body.
  18. How strange, I was looking at that just this morning and was going to post it! Majestic chicken eh?
  19. Thanks for that, I assumed that HID's would be flat but just checking as I think we've upset our Euro neighbours enough, best not to blind them as well!
  20. Exactly what I found, just far too much traffic to make it work, and as you say, some dual carriageways.
  21. Just planning our drive to Austria for the Spring. Does anyone know if the facelift LS430 has a flat headlight pattern? The GS that we went in last May did but I don't know about the LS/Celsior.
  22. Congratulations on your decision, looking forward to the photos!
  23. To be honest I don't think the German autobahns are that great. When we were driving through Germany last year I put my foot right down but it never seemed to be more than just a couple of miles before everyone going fast slammed their brakes on because a Nissan Micra had pulled out, I gave up in the end and just kept to 80 tops.
  24. I think you need to message LukasG rather than John (Old Trout) as he was the one with the original problem.
