  1. Just about every time I've done something like that I've ended up regretting it, and I'm not going there again! I should never have sold my last LS430, thinking the GS would take its place, it didn't. The low mileage is irrelevant, and 122k is nothing. Keep your money for some future fettling on your current car.
  2. Well done for spotting this one, don't you just hate the way a minority spoil it for everyone!
  3. Yes, I thought there was a 40amp fuse, a white one if I remember correctly, I don't know where it is though.
  4. I got the radiator from Eurocarparts, they only do one for the LS430. The only thing is that a UK model would need adapting as most aftermarket ones are made for the US and Japanese market, so mine was a straight swap.
  5. I don't know where you find a wiring diagram but a very common fault is the nylon drive within the aerial breaking. Maybe that's the problem? A multimeter would confirm it.
  6. I know nothing about LPG, is it possible to remove the system and just use petrol, or is it much more complicated than that? I've never heard of a sticking valve on these engines. What mileage has yours covered?
  7. A car like the LS must surely have protection against a short circuit. And can I ask who diagnosed sticking valves?
  8. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 10 mins to see if things reset? Then connect a fully charged battery.
  9. I'm guessing you have the Mark Levinson system?
  10. I think you're right, it could turn out to be a great opportunity for someone. I guess the brakes could be seized but if the price is right a new set of discs and pads isn't a fortune.
  11. Just imagine what a main dealer would have charged for the whole job!
  12. It's about £800 for the four from Strutmaster which I think is good, the problem comes from shipping and tax but as I said, you get the correct ones. I hope you get it sorted OK.
  13. I know it costs more, but in the end you'll get the correct struts from Strutmaster in the US. They make them specifically for your car and are made to the correct height. I'ts what I'll be doing if I have any problem. https://www.strutmasters.com/
  14. There's a YouTube video somewhere, an old Top Gear one, it has a G reg LS400 featured in it. This same car was bought by a member from Surrey, can't remember who though but I think is was around 3-4 years ago that he posted the info on the LOC. I just checked and the MOT ran out last summer so maybe its come to the end. The reg number is G615 EPE.
  15. I guess it's partly due to being plastic whereas the original is real wood and real wood veneers. That's one of the things I love about these cars, the look of the walnut when its polished is just superb, you can keep the carbon fibre or whatever its called.
  16. I think that's exactly what he means, slacken the brake at the disc to enable the disc to come away without catching.
  17. Ah yes, another member bought this kit, it's aftermarket add on.
  18. I've got no idea which system mine has, it just says "Celsior super live sound system" Yesterday I turned the volume to max (playing ELO) and there was no distortion but my ears hurt like in a rock concert so I'm not sure how ML would trump that.
  19. Unfortunately I think it's just poor materials. Ridiculous when you consider ML wouldn't put their system in a car until one quiet enough came along, and when they do it's sub standard. It's like they were saying "no car's good enough for our system" And now we discover their system isn't good enough for our cars! There's even much talk about how poor the quality is on the US forums.
  20. Apparently the MOT equivalent is more stringent, and yes, soft close doors. The pre-facelift is prone to delamination but I've also seen it on later ones. I'm told the Japanese don't salt their roads so less rust. I've posted this before but this is the underneath of mine after 16 years.
  21. I'm not sure why this happens, when I click on the link it opens OK. Try a Google search: Is the Lexus LS430 a good car? and you may get it that way.
