I went back to Halfords this week to buy some DRL's, and I found a staff member! I bought a pair of Ring lights at £21 with the discount, the very same lights are £39 at ECP. This time the guy had no trouble with the card or the 15% -
It is a tad overpriced, but having seen it it's like a new car, above and below. You simply wouldn't find one that looks like it elsewhere. I also reckon he'd take 5k for it as he's had it awhile.

Having bought my first JDM car I agree with Steve. Should I be in the market for another Japanese car I would always look first for a recent import.

It does look excellent but as it's pre-facelift I think the price is too high. Also we should never consider the low mileage on these to be something that demands a premium. It would be interesting to see it in the flesh as photos taken inside under lights can be deceiving. Overall looks very nice though. I see the black Celsior at the dealer where I bought mine has been reduced to £5,500. Having seen it, it's absolutely beautiful, mint black paint with perfect chrome wheels. I was very tempted myself when I saw it!

I would contact Paul Frost and ask him, he's so knowledgeable with these cars. I once took the speedo out of my LS400 and it wasn't difficult so I can't imagine the 430 is much different. This is PF's number. 07590072646

That really is odd, there are imports running around with the clock in kilometres, are you sure you're given the correct info? Failing that, give Paul Frost a call (lexussparesdirect) he'll tell you how easy/hard the job is, sell you a used unit and probably tell you how to change the readout so you have the correct mileage showing. Mine was changed when it was imported with the mileage changed to correspond with the Japanese auction sheet.

Well we look forward to the fruit of your search! 🚗. I'd avoid any Lexus V8 be it an LS or SC if the oil wasn't at the top, I've never owned one where the level has moved. What are they like to drive?

You should try our local Halfords. If, and it's a big if, that you do manage to find a staff member, they tend to give you the impression you've done something wrong just for being there. I do find the discount card useful though, apart from the satnav, I bought another dash cam and various cleaning/ detailing bits and pieces. I think you just have to be selective to make it work, look out for their offers etc.

I must say there still isn't a sign of even a rusty bolt head yet. We hardly had any roads salted this winter in our area, on the odd day we did I used my other car. I just realised that I need to take the flare out when we use the Eurotunnel soon as it's a kind of explosive!

Paul Frost seems pretty good, I don't think he'd sell you a duff part, he's got a good reputation.

On the ebay listing he states "please specify which side when ordering" so I'd say they are side specific. In fact looking at the picture I'd say it's clear they are different. Can I ask if you have any "symptoms" It helps to know what they are for future reference. Thanks

I find when they scan the card I only get 12%! Often the staff aren't aware of the card or LOC. I did recently but a new Tom Tom and got a healthy discount though.

Yes, mine also had the speedo changed to MPH but I won't know if it's delimited until 4 weeks time when I'm driving through Germany!😱

And mine has had a rear fog light switch fitted since being imported, thankfully integrated into the two rear light clusters and not a separate light hanging from the bumper like a Celsior on eBay recently! I was thinking the cornering lights would have made a good spot for DRL's but I'll have to think that one again.

Excellent info, and as usual, thanks to everyone for their input. They are indeed cornering lights that come on with the indicators, but only with the lights on which I didn't try initially! Mystery solved, and something else I didn't know my car had.👍

Mine is a UCF30 so now I'm really confused! So what's the purpose of cornering lights? The bulb is only a piddly thing.

No luck with that. This is the housing if anyone has any more ideas. You can see the yellow fog on the left, and the mystery clear bulb next to it. Plus you have the bonus of seeing my left arm!

I've found with mine the suspension pump can seem to go for several days before I hear it kick in, or sometimes I'll hear it every other day. It's not loud, just a "burble" As Steve says, it's located under the drivers side wheel arch cover.

I realise this is some weeks old but....many years ago when I lived in London we had a dentist that knocked out nervous patients, of which I was one. I should have had someone with me but I didn't. Walking home feeling light headed I saw an old car for sale outside a house, had money in my pocket so I bought it to get me home. The foolishness of youth! Heap of junk of course!

Cornering lights, that's a new one on me, I'm of to try it now!

Never too early for Rioja! The manual doesn't show anything, I've tried it with the ignition on, off, in-between, with other lights and none. Sorry about the weather John, very warm and sunny here!

That was a quick reply! I suppose I shouldn't be lazy and get the book out. I'll have a little sit in the garden and see if anything makes sense. I'm also curious to know if UK models have this bulb. Thanks John.

Just checking my front fog lights, which being a Celsior are yellow, but there's also a clear bulb in the housing on each far side. Nothing I try makes these bulbs come on, so does anyone know what they do? I don't remember having them on my last one. They don't act as side lights because they're in the main headlight housing. I just can't see a purpose for them so if anyone knows I'd be grateful. Ta.
