  1. Facelift was 2003 I believe. Yes, Woking isn't too far. If you find anything within a reasonable distance and want another pair of eyes just let me know.
  2. Ebay, ordered yesterday and delivered this morning! Mine is an LS though, not an RX, although as they are universal it does have the fitting instructions for an RX.
  3. If you get an LS you won't go back to MB! The facelift model has a 6 speed transmission and Bluetooth, plus a few other upgrades. History is really important, as is evidence of a cam belt change. The only places for rust are the sunroof area and just above the middle trim on the doors, although not that common and treatable. Where in Surrey are you?
  4. Anyway, I have hid's, AFS, but now i've also got Eurolite deflectors stuck on, so I reckon I'm covered!....but I will remember to turn AFS off.
  5. £800..each! Ouch! Anyway, my deflectors arrived today so they're going on, needed or not. I think I'll grab a few old bulbs, put them in a bag and assume that if I'm stopped and asked to produce them they won't understand the complexities of a Lexus!
  6. Well this is the bit that confuses me. Mine has hid's so I assumed I don't need to worry, but others are saying I do need deflectors!
  7. Sadly the hid's aren't likely to come in a kit. They also cost in the region of £65 each and really should be replaced in pairs. If you want to just have spare headlight bulbs it may be worth buying a couple of cheapies from eBay. Also as said, it's not a quick and easy replacement, mine could take an hour each!
  8. Indeed, no! Although a bit of Von Trappe while skipping over the Alps may amuse!
  9. I'll get a headlight deflectors just in case an over zealous officer of the law sees it and starts to question me. All the other documents/insurances are all sorted. I won't be going to any French cities so all I'll need is to pay the tolls and get a vignette for Austria.
  10. The only slight diversion will be to the little French town of Socx for lunch, especially as it's asparagus season...hmmm, asparagus and poached eggs! Then it's straight to the Luxembourg countryside for the night, that'll leave a 420 mile drive the following day. My wife is getting more excited at the prospect of Austrian potato salad at the motorway service area than anything else. Image foreign visitors getting excited about Clacket Lane services!
  11. Thanks. Last year we did Vienna in the GS and saw one MK3 LS400 on the German autobahn. That was the one and only LS in 2,500 miles, now that's rare!
  12. Thanks for that, I'll pick some up today. I do have AFS so thanks for the reminder!
  13. Just doing my pre flight checks. I'm told I don't need to do anything to my headlights, can anyone that's driven a 430 in Europe confirm this? Thanks.
  14. I've got private plates on both my cars and no difference to insurance. In fact they didn't even charge me the usual "admin" when I changed.
  15. Thanks, so I've more or less been right with it. I really must think about finding a manual. I've got an online version but it's a tad fiddly.👍
  16. Looking online the pressure should be 35.8! Although it doesn't specify wheel size. I think I'll Google translate my manual tomorrow!
  17. I've got all next week spare so I'm going to try it at 33 and 36 just to see if I can feel the difference.
  18. That's what I'm concerned about. I want the drive to Austria to be as smooth as possible.
  19. I don't know but mine has 17" wheels, maybe because it's an import, who knows!
  20. I've always liked those DHP wheels, and they still look good. What mileage are you at?
  21. Thanks for the replies, I do have a manual but it's Japanese so not much use. I do seem to remember from my previous one that 36psi was the norm but I thought I'd see what others were doing. We won't be loaded, apart from the last leg from Calais where the boot will be full of wine! I won't be driving too fast but I will try it flat out in Germany for a short burst, just to see if it's still limited from its life in Japan.
