  1. I agree about using a cage. We have a greyhound and she goes in her cage in our Volvo estate, I also hold the cage down with a ratchet strap for a bit more security.
  2. I've never heard of a "D" rubber, if that refers to anti roll bar bushes then on most cars it's cheap and easy to fix, but an RX owner will hopefully give you the correct info.
  3. I have a Lexus sat nav disc of Europe from my GS but it didn't recognise it, It's just so much easier to use either my TomTom or my phone. In fact using the TomTom on our last three drives in Europe was both brilliant and invaluable, I'm not sure I would have said the same for an outdated Lexus system!
  4. To change the sat nav screen to English/Europe you need to replace the screen for a used one from a breakers and the disc drive also. I looked at this but for about £300 for the two it doesn't seem worth it. My TV doesn't do much so I'm guessing if I want to watch TV in my Celsior I have to take it back to Japan for a holiday! Personally I like having Japanese on the screen and some of the buttons, it's a good conversation topic! The main thing really is the drive, even brand new cars I've driven aren't as good. And the V8 engine is just the best!
  5. That's where I topped mine up from, so yes you can.
  6. I think that's a good thing, the Pioneer system is good and you'll unlikely have problems with blown speakers. I had two previous LS430's with the ML system and both suffered from blown speakers, but this one is fine.
  7. Do you have the Mark Levinson system or the Celsior one which is a Pioneer system and actually more reliable? You may also have a stainless exhaust which I have.
  8. If it is correct that the badge is gold plated it may respond to a cleaner of some kind. Mine came to the UK in March last year. I notice that the rear armrest in yours doesn't have any controls, does that mean you don't have reclining rear seats etc?
  9. It looks very nice. The wires on the windscreen are for the automatic toll payments in Japan, ETC. You may get a message in Japanese which will tell you you haven't got a credit/debit card set up for payment! Do you know when yours was imported from Japan? You may be able to clean the front Toyota badge, if not perhaps spray it silver? It's only held in place by one screw so easily removed.
  10. Yes, welcome to LS430/Celsior ownership! What you have is standard Japanese spec. The rear windows are dark due to hot Japanese summers but are not removable as mentioned, it's simply dark glass. You get used to it and its not a problem. You likely don't have a sunroof for the same reason. Mine is exactly the same as yours, same colour, same gold badges. Apparently the badges are 22 carat gold plated! I've more or less got used to the Japanese display, although oddly some of it is in English! I took my sat nav disc out to stop it speaking to me in Japanese every time I started it. And like mine you have the 6 spoke wheels which weren't available in the UK. How about some interior photos? Do you have the Celsior over mats? And do you have a sticker showing a cam belt change? The Japanese often put the sticker just inside the bonnet at the front rather than the engine bay.
  11. If it's a 96 P reg it'll be a MK3. I can't understand why you would need to reprogram a key just because the battery was naff, the battery wouldn't cause the fob to "unprogram" itself. Maybe the seller didn't give you the whole story! I'll try to find the programming sequence if I still have it. Either way, you'll need to be sure one of your keys is a master key otherwise you can't do it.
  12. So it's a MK3 Are they the original keys, and what did the previous owner say about keys? I've only reprogrammed a key to a MK4 but I assume the process is similar.
  13. Firstly do you have at least one master key?
  14. I was really surprised at the colour coming off the roof in particular, even after washing. I thought about some photos but the feel of the paint is what impressed me, I'm not even sure if a babies seating quarters compare!
  15. It did look like rain when I did it but it passed over. I'm told (by the manufacturer) that it'll be a little easier to clean now. Hmm.⛈️🌧️
  16. I've been meaning to give this a go for ages, and as Halfords are doing a promotion on clay kits (plus 15% off with the gold members card) I gave it a go today. I have to say, I've never felt car paint so smooth! The whole process, with waxing, took about 3+ hours. I almost had a Narcissus moment as I saw myself so clearly in the reflection!💎
  17. Cheap enough to put two on each wheel then!👍
  18. I agree about taking the chance, they could of course last a lifetime. As Lee says, an easy part to fit, so should my bearings ever need replacing I'll take my chance I think. Any idea what main dealer prices are?
  19. I wonder if we get a little too wary about Chinese stuff, I've had some brilliant things over the years. I notice even some of my Volvo parts say "made in China" I reckon I would give these bearings a go if I needed them.
  20. I know we talk much about aftermarket parts, especially steering and suspension, but considering the cost of original bearings, these are ridiculously cheap. Can they be that bad? I bought similar for my ex Vauxhall a few years ago and they were fine. I'm not in the market for any, just curious.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Lexus-LS430-Saloon-2000-2006-Front-Hub-Wheel-Bearing-Kits-Pair/352456112222?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus|Model%3ALS|Cars+Type%3A430&hash=item521005785e:g:c3cAAOSwxKNbko5b
  21. There doesn't seem to be much info coming your way on this! I don't know much about aftermarket coil packs but I always think as long as it isn't a steering or brake part I'm happy to take the chance.
  22. Ditto, good to know. I've never heard of them either.
  23. Certainly converting to conventional coil suspension is the cheapest option. And I know my LS430 doesn't feel any better than my MK4 LS400 did.
  24. My understanding is the opposite so it's pistols at dawn for us! Choose your weapon sir!😳
