  1. That's just what I was thinking. You'd really think a car like that would have loads of nice pictures to show it at its best.
  2. I've considered and reconsidered what I will do if and when a problem arises. It may never be a problem but I've come to the conclusion that if a repair was necessary that cost more than three hundred or so I'll be buying a set of direct replacement coil shocks from Strutmaster in the US and say goodbye to air suspension for good. And as I've said before, I don't really believe air is any better than the conventional set up my LS400's had. I can't help thinking if one shock goes, the others may not be far behind.
  3. The same with me, living on the south coast I reckon we've had "real" snow maybe three or four times in 28 years. Then again I find driving a big rear wheel drive car in the snow a nerve wracking experience! Mine has Bridgestone tyres and they are superb.

  5. I can't help thinking you need to see if any fault codes show in a diagnostic. There are various things that cause the check vsc to come on.

  7. I guess it is worth a try, you may be the lucky one. I think a really thorough flush will be necessary though.
  8. I can't see it doing any more damage, and who knows, it may just be ok...maybe!
  9. Personally I'd be looking at the colour and smell. If it's red and doesn't smell burned I'd be leaving it alone.

  11. If it is the transmission I'm not sure fixing a leak will achieve much as there will be a fair amount of contamination in it. You may just be wasting money. I think I'd be looking for a used unit for a direct replacement, and a new radiator of course, or you could just strip down the radiator connections, clean the parts and replace the o rings, but I don't know of anyone who has done that. The radiator unions screw directly into the cooler, in fact it's all that holds it there. If you did decide to do that be careful to do one side at a time otherwise the cooler will drop and it'll be hard to realign.
  12. I'm assuming he has done something about the rough edges. As far as the braided cord goes it's a non starter. I've looked at the possibility of that with both cameras and sensor wires but there is no access through it.
  13. A job well done, all it takes is a little patience! How about some close up pictures of the mirror/screen in action?
  14. I agree to some extent but when I'm parking in places like London where space is limited, squeezing into that extra two inches can make all the difference. And I find with my factory fit front sensors, which don't go off when I pass every blade of grass, that I get warning if the car in front starts to roll back.👍
  15. For the front sensors you need to be able to switch them off. The rear sensors are activated when reverse is engaged but the fronts will be live all the time, that means they will bleep at everything around them, including people walking in front, stopping behind another vehicle, even passing parked cars, that can drive you nuts so you need to be able to turn them off. The switches are readily available, you can find them easily on eBay and they have the park assist image on them.
  16. Ah, UCF20. I think you'll find the main thing with this forum is that LS owners mainly want to keep them stock as they are as near to perfect as a car can get. Personally I can't remember any times over the years that I've been a member when anything like this have come up, and when it does it's considered sacrilege! Why do you want to do this?

  18. Brighton is only a few miles from me so I called in to see the guy who was doing this conversion, Jon is his name. He did the work himself, and none of it looked over complicated. The coilovers were adjustable and when he got the height correct he was very happy with the result.
  19. I imagine yours is in the same place as the LS which is under the front drivers side wheel arch cover.
  20. I've fitted parking sensors to various cars and it really is very easy, a job that anyone could do. The ones that I fitted to the rear of my Celsior cost £19 and look identical to original ones. I can't help thinking a decent mechanic might cost you less than a "specialist"
