  1. Yes, as Herbie says, please keep us updated, it's always interesting to know how a conversion worked out.
  2. Exactly! Very different cars of course, but I can't imagine having a V8 and not letting all the horses run occasionally!
  3. Hmm, I'm quite keen on flooring mine when I get the chance, exhilarating would be the word! Obviously I'm not so keen to see how the fuel gauge responds.
  4. Yuk! That's some gunge. What's the prognosis now?
  5. If you don't have sensors or the tyre symbol on the dash I guess like mine the switch is just fitted but not connected to anything.
  6. That will be the longest three weeks of your life! I hope it turns out to be all you hope for.👍
  7. Cheap code readers are excellent things to have, and most will come with a booklet showing generic code diagnosis.
  8. I have a friend in the motor trade who has been through just about every car imaginable, he currently runs a beautiful fully restored E type. He had a Bentley for a couple of years and complained that it was one of the most unreliable cars he's had, mostly due to electrical issues with the same duff components being shared with Audi. Stick with the LS, there's literally nothing like it!
  9. I've watched this as well and although I only had my GS300 for 6 months I didn't find any issues apart from the creaky dash which I sorted easily enough. To be honest I'd be happy with another one should my lovely LS ever see fit to say goodbye!
  10. For me the DHP are the very best looking wheels the LS400 has had. Not the easiest wheel to get a good priced tyre for though.
  11. Excellent, I've never seen that before. I wonder if that will still be said about Lexus made today!
  12. Looks fantastic, the best I ever got with a new car was a bunch of flowers!🌷
  13. Excellent, and I seem to remember some years ago you had similar luck with a door? I'm glad it's not terminal. 👍
  14. I looked for the bulbs but all I could find was the indicators. I looked online to find out how I access them, only to discover the facelift has LED units. To remove them there seems to be 3 X 11mm nuts, but like everything else Lexus they're not easy to get to without removing various bits of trim.
  15. I thought the arm like the one shown in this picture, being part of a height control sensor was necessary for headlight levelling. This is just a picture found online but you all know the part I mean.
  16. We'll certainly be watching this with interest. I think I've got the link somewhere from a US site on how to disable the warning because when you've disconnected the air setup you will get the warning. I believe it is only a case of removing the correct fuse. Are the new shocks height adjustable and did the kit come with top mounts?
  17. A friend who is a superb car body man always says to use the black Turtle Wax on mine which is dark blue. It really does make a difference with very minor marks, but stone chips are too deep, so as suggested they need proper touching up.
  18. And not such a bad thing replacing my existing centre brake light (which is a normal bulb) with the LED as the old bulb was very dark.
  19. Thankfully my newly discovered LED's are ok, I was just planning to change the original bulbs for LED replacements... if I had them! I believe there is info out there re soldering new ones in place should they fail.
  20. Correct, as it doesn't have two brake light bulbs as the earlier LS430 has. So now I have some very nice spare LED bulbs, so it looks like my wife will be wearing some unusual looking earrings!
  21. After another member saying how easy it is to replace the centre brake light I thought I would have a go at replacing mine with an LED, so I bought extra ones to replace the other brake light bulbs. After giving up trying to find where the bulbs are I googled it only to find the facelift has LED's already! But, here's the scary part, apparently if they fail you have to replace the whole unit!😱
  22. I can only comment on what I've read on this forum and it may be that the suspension is a weaker point, and replacement is much more expensive than a non hybrid GS.
