  1. The thing about doing your own work is that you get to see for yourself how well built they are. Keep us posted on how your dad reacts, that'll be interesting!
  2. I suppose the question to ask is are you enjoying doing it?
  3. Just curious to know what you mean by strut bar bushes. Have you got a picture of the parts needed.
  4. No apology necessary, it's easy to understand your frustration. Hopefully you'll get another if the current one is dead. There are a few out there, including some good ones. Keep us posted.
  5. It won't work my friend. During my years of being a member of this forum I've seen far too many of these comments turning nasty, but it won't happen here.🙂
  6. One other thing that's often not taken into account is the simple fact that most people can't afford a hybrid or electric car. I'm all for making things last, I'll try everything I can to repair something before it gets scrapped and put in landfill. As it happens Miss Thunberg, according to Greenpeace you're as much to blame as anyone for buying a mobile device. They say their production contributes 30% to global warming. If that's anywhere near accurate why is she communicating via social media using mobiles and not "telling" people never to buy another? Everyone demonstrating will have one!
  7. Whatever you're both looking for it sounds like it's in your play pens. Too much of this goes on, it's not helpful.
  8. Thanks for that. I do have the manuals but not in a language I can understand! PM sent.
  9. Have any of you LS430 owners with Bluetooth managed to copy your phone book? I've not tried as it's in Japanese! Bluetooth works ok but I'm just wondering if it's possible.
  10. I think that makes so much sense, it'll nice to know the whole system is sound.
  11. To be honest I think doing anything with o2 sensors when you have an exhaust leak is a tad pointless as a leak could trigger a sensor code. You have two pre cat and two post cat sensors, two for each bank. If you're having a new exhaust made it really would make sense to replace them at the same time, especially if you shop around and get some good prices. Some say it's best to replace in pairs.
  12. Some have managed to take them apart and replace the batteries for just a couple of pounds but I'm not sure I'd want to go that route.
  13. The Celsior is actually really odd because although the main menu is in Japanese, most of the switches are in English!
  14. I reckon you misheard him, he probably said "unique" 😁
  15. I'd be happy to pay £250 for something that upgrades like that. I have to say the wool upholstery is just superb, even in the very hot weather we had there was no screaming when sitting on hot leather! I took one of the front wheels off today just to have a nose around, I was amazed to see parts like the upper control arm still shiny!
  16. When you disconnect the transmission hoses very little comes out because its not under pressure. The easiest way is to fill your cooler, block the tubes temporarily then quickly make the connection, you'll loose just a few drops.
  17. I only put it on yesterday and I've only driven locally but I can't imagine it will feel any different, apart from messing up the aerodynamics and using a tad more fuel! It's all just a bit of fun really.
  18. The battery is built into the sensor, all part of the tyre valve assembly. I believe Lexus ones are something like £80 each!
  19. So how have you found the ride as I know yours has factory fitted conventional suspension?
  20. It just goes either side as the boot lid is slightly curved.
  21. The sensor batteries sadly don't last for ever and they're not generally replaceable, although I believe it's possible, I think there's info on the forum. Either way the tyre will need to come off. I'm not sure if a basic code reader will tell you which one (ones) are at fault.
  22. Can I be rude and ask what you paid for the wheels?
