  1. Be warned if you're looking for an LS430, he's out there on eBay under "jaguarbloke"
  2. Have you got a cheap code reader? When the VSC light came on in my 2005 GS an eBay reader picked up an o2 sensor. Even a tiny hole in the exhaust can cause an o2 error. It seems with a Lexus even looking at the car in the wrong way can trigger VSC!
  3. Can you get some heat to it and penetrating fluid rather than WD-40? Heat from a small gas torch. I'm not familiar with the 400 setup, I assumed it would be very similar to the 430 which is easy.
  4. The electronics on all Lexus cars is so complex so there may not be an easy answer. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes or so can reset various settings so it may be worth trying that first.
  5. If it was me I would take the advice and not rely on ACC, and I would seriously look at the two Celsiors currently on eBay. One has been for sale for well over a year so bargaining room, the other (white one) has conventional suspension. Both have the same engine as your GS and very low mileage, plus a rust free underbelly!
  6. Anything nesting in the undisturbed area?🐒
  7. Two days ago my 6 CD changer became jammed so today I planned to take it apart. I decided first to get some info and came across the problem on the US site. A couple of people suggested pressing the eject button and at the same time giving the dash a wack on the right, sure enough the CDs came popping out and all is fine! That's why the LOC is brilliant both here and the US!
  8. The odd thing is that I emailed Paul Frost at lexussparesdirect and he replied to say he doesn't have any and has never been asked for them! There are just a couple of sellers on eBay at about £70 for new ones so I may order them if I can't source them elsewhere.
  9. Thanks Mark. As I've done the suspension, links and d bushes I think I'll order these as well.
  10. I get just a little bit of a rattle through the steering wheel over small bumps and I'm wondering whether it could be the rack bushes. I don't ever remember reading anything about this so has anyone had experience of it? The bushes are available, although not cheap, and they look easy enough. Unless there are any other theory's out there.
  11. Maybe, just maybe, before I get too old and incapable, I'll be able to buy an unwanted V12 Toyota Century for the price of a takeaway curry!
  12. I would insist that a courtesy car meets your needs, I did once and got an estate which I needed. I also had a car written off which I bought back, had it repaired perfectly and ended up with an extra £1,000 in my pocket so if you are written off hopefully you can win in one way.
  13. Maybe they've adopted the "less is more" philosophy, if so its not working. The GS looks lovely so why not put loads of interior pictures on.
  14. When I say less than 3k I mean 5!! Even so, less than a years milage in 16 years is very unusual, if not odd. Another odd thing is the lack of photos in the ad!
  15. Apart from the fact I can't get the link to work, I'm sure someone can. A 16 year old GS with less than 3k on the clock!
  16. I've just tried that so thanks for the info. I've not noticed it before though. Come to think of it I'm not noticing it now so we'll done!👍
  17. Just recently, and annoyingly as I've just renewed my gold membership, the adverts are popping up all over the place. Everything from car parts to solicitors and denture repairs! I don't know why but I thought that being a gold member avoided that.
  18. I would suggest it's not just internally that corrosion happens. When I replaced the radiator on a previous LS430 the rust outside was really bad on the connection to the radiator because the fittings aren't stainless.
