  1. If you go to ECP website you can still get Denso blades at 50%.
  2. As above, if it is the water pump it needs doing immediately as it could wreck the cambelt, then you're sunk! You could remove the auxiliary belt (easy job) and briefly run the engine, if it stops being noisy you know it's not the water pump.
  3. Yes, interference engines!
  4. Mine is a very dark blue Celsior with gold badges. I'm in Cornwall this week but drop me a pm with your details and I'll contact you when I'm back.
  5. It's a very strange thing owning an import, it's not on any system, ie insurance comparison sites, car part sites etc.
  6. Well I live in Worthing and I can certainly recommend someone who knows them inside out who will be happy to do most things for you, and he's very reasonable. I've only ever seen a silver LS430 around, parked opposite the seafront, would that be yours?
  7. Congratulations on the purchase of a fine car, and having the same engine as mine I know you can't go wrong! I really like the SC, nothing else out there like it.
  8. Yes, several places are planning to follow.
  9. Actually, for me it's all irrelevant, I've no intention of driving mine into London. I am driving it to Lands End tomorrow morning though, I'm looking forward to that!
  10. It is strange, and I've never understood it because it's the same car.
  11. Just checked my 2003 Celsior which costs £265 to tax and it's not compliant!
  12. You could try Rockauto in the US, they supply many parts for older/classic cars but I'm not sure if it was called a Soarer in the US do you would need to check that.
  13. Well I looked at mine and unless yours are just missing I can't see how you could add them as there's a slot for them in the top of the door card.
  14. That's surprising, I thought it was standard. I know the small quarter light ones just unclip, I'll have a look at mine this afternoon to see how they're fitted. Actually mine are pointless really as the Celsior rear windows are so dark.
  15. Horses for courses but my Volvo has Avons and I would say they're the best tyres I've had.
  16. Surely a main dealer warranty will cover you then. The shocks may not have failed but if they're leaking then they're faulty.
  17. Unfortunately my experience of warranties, unless perhaps it's a main dealer, is they're not worth much. When I had my GS it came with a shiny warranty booklet but both claims I made were rejected as parts hadn't actually "broken" being worn wasn't enough!
  18. Is it worth trying lexussparesdirect direct for used cats? Could it also be another issue, ie o2 sensors? It may be worth getting the codes read on a better reader.
  19. The same year as my first ever Lexus, faultless over the five years that I owned it.
  20. You've the same type as me Phil, and I realise how wrong I was about WD-40 as I noticed the longer one has WD60 on it!
  21. Sadly Rockauto can't be contacted by phone but their customer service email is fairly good, so you could perhaps email them to check parts details. The lifetime warranty won't apply if shipped outside the US (apart from Canada) so you'll get a two year warranty. If you choose post for shipping you'll likely get clobbered by Parcelforce for import duty. If you choose FedEx you pay vat up front so nothing else to pay, and delivery is very quick, I've had parts delivered in four days.
  22. On the Denso fitting is says WD-40, is that some code or is it actually a suggestion that you apply some first I wonder.
  23. To be honest I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, or even debating the issue, but if someone says they have the original alternator after 220k plus miles I'm more than happy for that to be the case....or not.
  24. How can a car battery last 7 years and another 1 year, a wheel bearing 100k or 250k, the starter motor the same? Some LS starters have failed many haven't.
