  1. Did you do your own diagnostic? My wife had her car checked by two garages that came up with different possibilities, we then took it to a place (although more expensive) that had vastly superior equipment and immediately they diagnosed the problem. That's what I think I'd be doing.
  2. Thanks Steve. I've got a feeling I might have asked the same question some months ago but I'm not sure. That'll be an age thing then!
  3. Does anyone know which main beam bulb is the correct one for the LS430? The olds ones give a very yellow light now so I thought I'd replace them.
  4. Not only did it cost me £500 but she had to be humiliated with a pink bandage!
  5. How can you mock the afflicted? She's only bones, and now one tooth less and me £500 less! Whatever happens with all this stuff in the future, I bet a looked after LS will still be running!
  6. Very good news. And I think it's time for us to get together again so our Celsiors can catch up on all the news!
  7. This is sooo common on the IS diesel. I don't know the model but help will be along soon I'm sure.
  8. Same here, it's never set the alarm off.
  9. It does seem very cheap, especially given its good MOT history. The seller has a very nice Bentley for under 10k should you want to constantly put your hands in your pocket!
  10. I think it's brilliant that you're taking care of a majestic old girl! The more I think about my 93 LS the more I realise how it surpassed my later 4 LS's in reliability.
  11. I second the sagging overnight thing, it shouldn't happen.
  12. A member of the LOC was advertising his earlier this week for a similar price, I'd be doing a search to see if it's still available (if you don't mind a black one) to me it looked a great buy.
  13. Excellent, much appreciated.
  14. Last April I bought the tag for traveling in France but didn't need it as we avoided the tolls. My question is, does anyone know if I have to do anything else to use it this year, and do I need to replace the battery? Thanks
  15. Best fish and chips in England?
  16. Me too! My Celsior is different to the other two cars I drive.
  17. My all time favourite colour, looks fantastic!
  18. I read yesterday that only 5% of the earth's land is populated so at least if we get bored there's a huge amount of further damage we can do to pass the time! And I do have a woodburner but obviously that's only for the dog's benefit, would you deny her?
  19. Sooo, according to Malcs article I may, just may, be able to use my car's filthy emissions like solar panels on a house, someone can "catch" my pollution and I can charge them for it. I knew there was an answer to the problem that gives me endless sleepless nights! In all seriousness, the thing I really hate is sitting behind (usually older vans) and having my cabin area filled with diesel fumes, I won't be sorry to see a decline in them.
  20. Now that I do like, a classy colour for a classy old girl.
  21. You would also assume vegans would object to traveling in a car on a cold day if it had leather seats rather than getting the bus but you'd be wrong. You would also think my granddaughter who is vegan wouldn't want the very expensive leather boots that she asked for at Christmas but you'd be wrong. And if Greenpeace are anywhere near correct in suggesting the production of mobile devices is responsible for 30% of global warming that people wouldn't want a new model every year but you'd be wrong. PS, the pie was a treat, mostly we are veggie....mostly.
  22. Please sir, can't I have both? I had such a lovely steak and mushroom pie yesterday!
  23. They do sit much lower at the rear. I would want to see it cold before the engine was started and compare levels. It's normal for the pump to kick in, depending on weight being carried, road levels etc but it shouldn't go down when it's sitting for days unused.
