  1. It's worth mentioning that your catalytic converter on an RX450h would be a very real target for thieves.
  2. I have a similar-ish problem with my system. Because mine is a JDM import I can only tune to Radio 2, so I bought a device (which thankfully was cheap) to change the wave band. I took the unit out to plug the device into the antenna socket only to find it doesn't have the socket like UK models have!
  3. You're a two RX couple! If only I could convince my wife to get an LS, we could have over 8 litres between us!😁
  4. I think there will always be parts available, maybe it'll just take a bit more searching. When I ordered my suspension struts from Rockauto the FedEx tracking was brilliant. Ordered Monday afternoon and delivered before 10am Friday. I suppose the thing to remember is that the LS was, and is, so popular in the US that parts there are not only more plentiful but also cheaper, whereas here they are fairly rare so we pay a premium for rarity.
  5. Well let's hope everything goes well from now on! So do you know which parts have been replaced after your pothole encounter?
  6. I think Rockauto's delivery service is brilliant, it certainly beats many UK based companies! Did you pay customs upfront?
  7. Personally I would wait for one with much lower mileage, they do come along. And just out of interest, I'm sure I saw Lord Lucan in our local Tesco last year!
  8. I'm confused now. You say you're looking for one with around 50k and pristine but this has 173k.
  9. That was the Camry that we hired all those years ago to drive many hundreds of miles in Canada. It was such a lovely car.
  10. Good for you, we'll have a drag race one day. And no, I don't mean dressing up!
  11. I must say an LS with roof rack does look weird! Better than a canoe sticking out the back window though!
  12. So what do we reckon the name will be when we're long gone, "hydrogen head"?
  13. Good point because even a poor fitting fuel cap can cause all sorts of problems.
  14. If petrol and diesel are disappearing from our shores in due course, what will replace the term "petrol head"? Will it be electric head, hydrogen head, solar head, wind head? Due to my age I'll continue to be a petrol head for the rest of my days, but I feel for future "heads"
  15. To me it just stands to reason that a fluid/lubricant simply can't function as well after many miles as it does when it's fresh.
  16. Absolutely marvelous. Thanks for the pics.
  17. My Celsior has wool seats, so much nicer on a cold day, and no bum scorch in mid summer!
  18. I guess the best bet might be to go for a mid price range one. Mevotech seem a popular brand in the US.
  19. Rockauto have a pair of rear links for £11. If you pay vat up front and choose FedEx it should still save on UK prices.
  20. Superb! And like Steve says, more (many more) pictures please. I had my Celsior up on the ramp last week for a few checks, the mechanic said it's like a 3 year old car underneath. A good reason to buy an import!
  21. We'll be mostly in Austria where the winter driving rules don't apply after April 15.
  22. We'll be driving in the Alps in late April and I don't intend using anything. As you rightly say, it depends which part.
  23. The Century was made (and still is) for chauffeuring the top brass in Japan. I had the privilege of seeing one in the flesh in London just over a year ago, an impressive vehicle, most made with a V12 engine. It could actually be the same car if it's anywhere near Walthamstow.
  24. I would still get it to a Toyota or Lexus dealer who will use Techstream.
  25. Did you do your own diagnostic? My wife had her car checked by two garages that came up with different possibilities, we then took it to a place (although more expensive) that had vastly superior equipment and immediately they diagnosed the problem. That's what I think I'd be doing.
