  1. I've noticed that from the US, not something I've heard much about here but it seems easy to do.
  2. Is that always the case I wonder. Mine has a stainless factory exhaust and the windows are not "double glazed" as some describe it, so mine won't delaminate. When mine was up on a ramp 3 months ago I was told it's like a 2-3 year old underneath, a fresh import is definitely the way to go in my opinion.
  3. I think we all need help! How about some photos?
  4. I've notice the JDM pre facelift Celsior has all walnut rather than brushed aluminium like the UK LS, personally I prefer all wood.
  5. I know I've mentioned this before but I can't help thinking for a little more money the other white one on eBay would be a better choice. It's got 36k on it, has the speedo converted to mph, has conventional suspension and will have the auction sheet. I notice it also has a backup camera. He doesn't shift cars like this very quickly and I wouldn't be surprised if he would take 5k.
  6. That's why I went for a GS but after six months I missed the LS too much! The GS in my opinion is a fine car though, we did 2,500 miles across Europe in it and enjoyed every minute, but if you have an LS400 now you may just regret changing.
  7. When I went to see and test drive a red GS430 I was a little disappointed with the performance compared to the GS300 I eventually bought. It's also worth bearing in mind the extra cost of things like suspension on the 430, plus the cambelt as opposed to the 300 with a chain. If you haven't, and if you get the chance with the way things are, it's worth trying both.
  8. Is the insurance cost simply because it's an import? I found very few would cover mine although the price for me was similar to a non import. Mine is a grade 4 so a 5 must be as new.
  9. I do like the look but it's the smooth ride I would want. I notice some car dealers are offering to make test driving available unaccompanied, maybe you can arrange that?
  10. He's got a Celsior like me and mine also has Bridgestone tyres from Japan, definitely not original! I think I'm right in saying his Celsior has only been in the UK for 2 years or so (I went to see it with him) and the Japanese rules on tyre condition seem even stricter than ours.
  11. I can't help thinking an LS lowered like that wouldn't have the ride comfort you'd want. Looks good for shows etc but not for me, I'd prefer a standard car made how it was intended. I put a bigger set of wheels on a previous LS400 but changed them back very quickly. Is this one for sale then?
  12. Really you would need to take advice from an RX owner I think.
  13. Yes, London certainly seems to have the highest number of cases. Some have said catlocs work, others are not so sure. Maybe you could get a dog with big teeth and train it to sleep underneath! Parking in a space that makes getting a jack underneath it is sensible if possible. The thieves will be looking for quick easy access.
  14. If you do a search on here for catalytic converter theft you'll find lots of info.
  15. Hi Roger, as far as I'm aware the RX is the main target as access is easier due to the height. Also it seems the Toyota Prius is another favourite.
  16. Hi Conor, welcome to the LOC. You may be ok under the current conditions but you may want to find a way to protect your catalytic converter as the RX400h is a prize target.
  17. This must be a really special car as it apparently drives like a "Chinese Rolls Royce"
  18. This is a guy I saw when he came to our town just a few years ago, really excellent.
  19. I'm guessing we won't be going to a music concert together sometime. I hear it as music to brush your teeth to! When all is said and done it's blues for me, plus some 60'/70's rock.
  20. He's clearly an amazing player and I can listen to it but it's not the kind of jazz I mean. The kind that grates with me is the type that sounds like 8 players that have all brought the wrong music but decide to play anyway! Of course when it comes to a more blues/jazz that's a different thing, that I really enjoy, and this guy sounds quite bluesy. Now this I absolutely love.
  21. Now that's something I can't understand, and of course we're all very different. I've tried listening to jazz and it has the opposite effect, it really winds me up!
