  1. Ah well, mine lived (until 2018) in Japan where they never seem to drive much, I've done 10k in less than two years in it.
  2. I've ordered a complete Gates kit with water pump for £180, I've booked it in with a local mechanic recommend to me by another member who is very knowledgeable regarding these cars and he's charging £150 so £330 for the whole job is fine with me. Annoyingly though, it's only done 15k since the last replacement 10 years ago!
  3. I'm just about to consider mine. Some main dealers do a fixed price on older models but that doesn't include the water pump which should be changed at the same time. A decent Gates kit can be bought for around £200 with the pump, and a competent mechanic should fit it for £150-200, that's what I've been quoted and it's the same engine as the SC. Just checked and I'm quoted £150 labour!
  4. I didn't know it was controllable, a shame my manual is in Japanese!
  5. My Celsior doesn't have heated front seats either, although being wool it doesn't need them. I'm guessing it may have come from a warm part of the country. The rear seats on the other hand have just about everything you could think of, made for chauffeuring I suppose.
  6. Yes, I've got that on the Volvo as well although I'm never sure how much pollution you need before it kicks in!
  7. I agree with that, my Volvo had a carbon/charcoal filter and I replaced it with a lesser one, now I can really smell things like diesel fumes which I couldn't before.
  8. I had a 2005 GS300 for a while, it's still a modern looking car in my opinion and it is fairly easy to work on. As mentioned, photos please!
  9. A very timely move I think! The AC condenser should be ok, I wouldn't do it unless you have problems. The sponge always falls apart, I left mine off.
  10. Interesting that you say that because this does generally seem quite a chilled forum, I guess that's because so many of us are chuffed with our Japanese purchases!
  11. I would consider starting a new thread to ask your question as this one is 16 years old so you may not get too much response.
  12. I've tried them twice in the past without any success. The last time they said someone would call me back but they didn't so they won't get my business.
  13. Our time will come!
  14. Why don't you phone Adrian Flux for some info, I know you speak highly of them!🤭😇
  15. Many years ago I reversed a lorry into a new Jag, so I know just how it feels! I was greeting with (from a very posh man) "a Jaguar is a very expensive car to repair". Never mind my lorry I thought!
  16. My brother once worked at a Ford dealership where one staff member was bashing the boot lid down many times to get it to close, then they noticed the petrol cap had been left on the lip! Back to the paint and body shop! We all make mistakes.....even Donald the disinfectant Trump.
  17. It surprised me as well. I did leave it at home last year before our Eurotunnel crossing!
  18. More than you think, my screen wash water comes from Harrods own natural spring, and it's flown from London to my house by pink feathered nymphs!
  19. Strangely, mine being an import it doesn't have headlight washers. And I'm assuming it came from a warmer part of Japan because it doesn't have heated front seats either. But it does have two screen wash reservoirs, one to wash the screen and the other to rinse off the screen wash with clean water!
