  1. A difficult one this. A few years ago we were encouraged to reconsider when buying cheap clothes from India, Bangladesh and other countries, but as it was pointed out, if we stop buying then the really poor people that manufacture the goods suffer most as their jobs disappear We were called to contact the shops selling the items and ask them to pay the manufactures more and raise the price we pay. Sadly I don't recall it happening. Will the poorest people in China suffer more if the west stopped buying the goods. Certainly after watching the documentary from China some while ago I would never buy an Apple product!
  2. Another member recently had the whole back end completely down due to just one damaged sensor. I see no reason why you can't drive set on high. I think you need to get it jacked up to see if anything looks amiss, something may be obvious when you look. Take some photos when you jack it up and post them here if you can. DON'T run the engine when it's jacked up.
  3. Is it loosing height over a period or just constantly sitting low? If it's the latter I would punt on it being a height sensor. On a previous LS430 I had to replace one as the rear sat too low.
  4. Was it fairly straightforward? Any special tools?
  5. I've met Neil and his very very nice (and very different) SC, so to one day have a go behind the wheel would be fun!
  6. I think it may just be a Japanese thing! Did your Celsior come with an illuminated parking pole? Everyone asks me what it is!
  7. Well you know where I live so you've got no excuse to not hold to your promise!😁
  8. Lexus cars seem fairly scarce in my part of West Sussex for some reason, apart from the CT and RX, but I see three SC's quite often. Maybe it's a coast road top down kind of thing! I'd love to drive one at some point, just to satisfy my curiosity.
  9. An excellent choice, I've got a real soft spot for the SC! Enjoy.
  10. That must be the same magic and benevolent fairy that fixed the slight noise from my soft door closer!
  11. Just taking a closer look, that's a lovely car you have there!
  12. I've considered new wheels for some time but most seem to need spacers and new nuts, plus they're not exactly cheap, so justifying new ones was difficult, especially when there's nothing really wrong with the original ones. It was only because these came up for £25 each that I went for it, plus £49 to have them collected. Because I was pleased with the result I decided on new tyres, £342 fitted for Avons I thought was pretty good, I really do like Avon tyres, and as I said, it's even quieter now which is an unexpected bonus!
  13. I think the UK spec facelift has 18" but being a Celsior it was fitted with 17's. No idea why there was a difference though.
  14. These are the wheels I bought from a new member a couple of weeks ago. After a refurb I treated them to a new set of Avon tyres. Soo much quieter than with the Bridgestones. The same size wheels, 17"
  15. I know he absolutely loved the LFA, I didn't know he liked the GSF! He also liked the Nissan GTR which I got to drive, wow, what a car!
  16. It could have been a Clarkson review, like Clarkson he was determined not to like it before he started. He may have missed an important point as well when he constantly reminded us that it cost 90k US because he mentioned its reliability. You'll notice how he said MB and BMW will eventually cost big money to repair, so long term I know what I'd have. Plus it looks much nicer than the rivals!
  17. I've just forwarded it to someone as it's so good! Thanks for posting.
  18. That's one of the best videos I've watched for ages, gave me a great laugh!😁
  19. The best looking of all LS wheels in my opinion. And I never knew the DHP wheels were Italian!
  20. I'm not sure. Jacking up without the engine running is of course fine, I guess with the engine running the sensors are sending wrong messages.
  21. I would have it only very slightly jacked when starting then lower it right down to fill the bladders, otherwise it can make the system freak out, although it can be reset.
  22. I'm sure you know this but the car shouldn't be jacked up when you run the compressor.
  23. Have you got the creaky dash like most have? Mine had it but easy enough to remedy.
  24. These are the original ones and the new (with centre caps not yet fitted properly)
