  1. Maybe you need to have a diagnostic check which should show a transmission fault, but you may need to go to a main dealer to get it checked properly, or at least a Toyota dealer.
  2. My 2005 GS300 certainly wasn't limited to that private road speed because I tried it in Germany. I know this sounds silly but when you say the revs were redlined, is it possible you dropped the shifter into a lower gear without realising it? Unless the transmission was slipping, which I guess it can do at high speed as well as low.
  3. Maybe it was playing police for you to preserve your licence as 100mph is a ban!
  4. Nooo, a Chevy and a Pontiac look the biz next to the Mustang!
  5. I got my D bushes from Rockauto this morning which I ordered on Wednesday, plus two fridge magnets!
  6. I've got a 32gb card. I'll try formatting it in the camera to see if that makes a difference. It's annoying as I witnessed some really aggressive and dangerous driving which I would have sent to the police but sadly nothing was recorded!
  7. It seems to give both options. I've formatted the card in my laptop but back in the camera it says format SD card. I'm guessing to the card has maybe become corrupted in some way so maybe I'll try a new one.
  8. Where on earth did you manage to find a harbour to drive around in the landlocked county of Oxfordshire!
  9. I put my SD card into my laptop to find it empty, the dash cam says I need to format the card, is this normal? I've never done it before and I've had one in my other car for three years without having to do it. Nextbase say it should be done every three weeks.
  10. Well there you go, there's nothing like it! On the downside, our dogs hairs like to cling to it!
  11. Keep us posted because it's always good to see and hear about our repairs.
  12. No one is allowed to have coloured drinks in my car! I love the way I found the pure new wool label when I removed the rear seat!
  13. My Celsior has wool and to be honest it's so much nicer than leather, it's like sitting in your favourite armchair, and two days ago when it was 32degrees I really appreciated it. It's also very nice on a cold winter morning.
  14. Oh no! Bad luck Mike. So has it completely destroyed a bumper? Front or rear?
  15. I picked the cheaper FedEx option but having just checked the tracking (which sadly I do find interesting!) I see my package is already at Stansted just two days after ordering.
  16. I always pick FedEx when I buy from Rockauto, and I know they may be a tad expensive but they are brilliant. I ordered my parts this week, VAT paid, which is what I always do, and the tracking is also excellent.
  17. I can't understand why Lexus wants so much for mine! Anyway, I've ordered them from Rockauto, should be here in a few days.
  18. I've not had any success with my android phone, of course it doesn't help having my menu in Japanese!
  19. I'm not over familiar with Mercedes so I don't know the model, although I've traveled in it. It's a diesel engine with the typical Range Rover type body, and I remember him saying it's something like a 2.4 but I'm not certain. The problem wasn't the part which was cheap, it was the labour accessing it. As I recall it was a 15 reg. Probably a 4Matic thinking about it.
  20. I'm sure it could all have been sorted but as he just paid 3k to sort a Mercedes oil leak I can understand his hesitation. As far as I know he'll still be open to another but again it would have to be a main dealer car.
  21. It does seem a lot, and that's supposed to be a sale price! Still, it sailed through the MOT yesterday so that's good. I may get the bushes from Rockauto, their AC Delco bushes are only about £6 for a pair of fronts. It's not that I mind spending the money on OEM parts, it's more the principal!
  22. Several months ago I replaced my front and rear d bushes with a set from eBay, about £30 for the set as I recall. One of them at least creaks when it's hot, fine when cold, so I thought I'd get genuine ones. Lexus parts direct have the fronts for over £36 each, doesn't that sound a bit steep? It makes a set about £130.
  23. I just bought an assorted pack from Halfords, they seem to fit in all my various holes!
