  1. I'm with you on that, it always makes me suspicious.
  2. Excellent, we look forward to some photos. Be sure the sensors have been replaced and that they haven't just erased the codes.

  4. One thing for sure is you want the cambelt and water pump to have been replaced, and with proof. I'm not an SC owner but I know you need to be sure the roof operates perfectly. If it has full service history and good MOT history that's obviously a good sign. Exhausts can corrode so check for any leaks but that should show in past MOT's. Assuming it has the ML music system it needs to be clear with no "buzzing" from the speakers. Like any car you need to listen for bangs and knocks over bumps. They are robust cars and I know I'm biased but the 4.3 engine is superb! Transmission also needs to be smooth and seamless.
  5. If you fancy a drive to Brighton Grove Garage will sort you out I'm sure.
  6. I've found when ARB's start to creak it happens more when it's very hot. On my old LS it would always happen in slow moving traffic, mostly due to the heat from the exhaust, it sounded like an old iron bed! As soon as traffic got moving they would cool down and the creak would go.
  7. If it happens over speed humps etc it could well be anti roll bar bushes.
  8. Did you buy this? I see a deposit has been taken.
  9. Many of us have been using companies like Rockauto in the US. Apart from shipping costs their prices are far lower than here. If you choose FedEx for shipping the vat is paid upfront so nothing else to pay. It's worth checking on their website as it will calculate all costs.
  10. I'm only guessing here but as the LS in most cases has air suspension and the SC doesn't I'd be very surprised if they share much, if anything. Have you considered importing parts from the US, you'll get them in a few days and likely save 50%
  11. If it all checks out the price is fair, maybe he'll take 2.5? One of the best colours as well.
  12. Just out of interest Mark, as we've been discussing steering, how does it feel on your latest purchase compared to your other one?
  13. When I bought mine one rear corner was bouncy and there was lots of oil misting on the shock, but the front had no visible tell tale sign, just very easy to bounce.
  14. Weird, I've never seen that before. I know the screens can fail, although I'm not sure it's that common, but why that image is there I've no idea!
  15. Another good word to describe it! The suspension is only 9 months old and being air it has a different top mount which is all sort of moulded into one. I have since checked that the top nuts are tight but I guess it wouldn't hurt to check again.
  16. Last year I had a knock when I hit bumps, all seemed ok joint/bush wise. When I bounced the corners one at the front was kaput. You shouldn't be able to really bounce the corners other than the usual slight movement. When I removed the shock the air bladder was ok but oil poured out of the air connection. I now have 4 new ones.
  17. Thank you all for taking the time. Mark, although mine is a facelift it still has 17" wheels being a Celsior. I think I'm going to get it on a ramp, have a really thorough check of the bearings and other joints, maybe it's been too rushed by those who have checked it.
  18. Hmm, now a steering "rattle" is probably a good word to describe what I have in local driving situations over small imperfections on the road.
