  1. I tried it years ago with a good case and lost!
  2. Changer.
  3. I get what you're saying, and I wouldn't buy cheap ones from eBay for instance, from unknown sellers. My thinking is the US is famous for law suits, and so the companies buying these products in surely need to be careful of their sources. The brand is Ultra-Power which is a name you see all over Rockauto. The ball joints are supposed to be CNC machined and they are alloy like the originals. The finish on them is excellent so I'll see how it goes. An easy part to replace. Btw, if anyone has the torque setting for the bushes I'd appreciate it.
  4. On Saturday at about 3pm I ordered these parts from Rockauto, and they were delivered at 11 this morning (Tuesday) That isn't even three days! And less than I thought, £93 all in. And yes I realise they're from the Far East etc but it does make you realise what a massive mark-up there must be on OEM parts.
  5. If you do just do your research and avoid cheap coilovers.
  6. Cholesterol.
  7. There we are then, a list so small it hardly deserves a mention, I bet you wouldn't see that on a German car forum!
  8. To be honest I'm not sure of the setup on yours, although if it's very quiet you may hear air escaping. I've just disposed of my air setup and fitted springs and I would say the ride is better.
  9. The facelift around 2003 has the six speed transmission and generally looks sharper with a new grille and rear lights, it also has more wood in the cabin as it replaced the brushed aluminium. Many things to look out for, cam belt replacement is a must, new radiator to prevent transmission failure, suspension can cost a lot of money when it goes wrong, rust above the chrome door trims is not uncommon and the exhaust is not stainless so needs to be solid. The engine is generally bomb proof if its been serviced properly. Steering wheel motors should work in both directions, ie, in and out, up and down. That's for starters! I think the very last models are in the higher tax bracket.
  10. The RX can suffer with heavy corrosion at the top of the struts, have you checked there?
  11. I've also decided to replace my upper control arms, ordered yesterday, that means I'll have more or less replaced everything at the front.

  15. It's on 72k miles now and was registered in late 2003. To be honest most of what I've replaced probably wasn't necessary, although its not only miles covered that causes bushes in particular to wear but also time, so I really wanted to make sure everything was tight. The suspension was an important move I think as it is a weak point on any aging car with air suspension and it shows that a conversion can work.
  16. As I've now replaced everything on my front end apart from the UCA's I thought I'd order a pair. Lexus Parts Direct £1,144, Rockauto including shipping and taxes £96, and that's not their cheapest ones. A week now with coil suspension and although it may not have the self leveling etc of air, I would say the ride is much better. I've tried it in town and at high speed and it feels excellent.
